Yep, you got me figured out. I'm so defensive that these forums are full of people who do nothing but whine and troll. I'm so defensive about really enjoying a game while numbers falsely dwindle from an inaccurate report from XFire. There is obviously no other explanation than that the game is bad, Blizzard is evil, RMAH is the only thing that matters, and kids don't have short attention spans. Glad you know what's up too, and I'm glad your attention span is here long enough to feel compelled to chime in. I don't care if I'm one of 10 people left in the world playing D3. If there is a server online, I'll be playing it. You kids can keep on moving to games that promote your short attention spans.

Come on man, DHs are not struggling in act1 of Inferno, even with the changes to IAS. Re-think your playstyle, build, and such.

Yes it's supposed to be compared because people can't let go of D2. D2 had an expansion, which grew the story, the 'world' with new zones, gear, and other features. D3 vanilla has laid a foundation with a story that can be expanded, the world can expand, gear that can be expanded, pvp, etc. There is nothing better from the current version of D2 that is remotely better than D3 vanilla. (Edit- I liked the old chat system in D2. That's the only thing better from D2)

People expect everything from the start, and that's the problem. WoW didn't have everything in vanilla, Everquest didn't have its 180,000 expansions built into vanilla, and Diablo 2 did not either.

Edit #2- I have no issue with people loving D2 because I do too, but I'm sorry, it doesn't hold a candle to D3. I get an hour, maybe 2 a night to relax and do some gaming. D3 has the perfect balance of action and risk vs. reward for me to step away from MMO gaming forever and not miss it for a single moment.

Things ARE selling on the gold AH still. You guys are just putting up crap items. Saying it's because people are quitting the game is just silly and a bit ignorant.

Here's what is happening... I'll break it down:

* More people are hitting Inferno and farming Act 1
* Act 1 is dropping more loot with the new patch so the amount of so-so items has skyrocketed
* People already have so-so items (or better) and are after upgrading their gear with high quality items

So basically, demand is down for so-so items and supply is up so people aren't buying them any more. It's a basic economic principle. As a result, the minimum quality of items that sell has increased.

It may never have been the intention, but how many players have never used the AH (to sell or buy) Of course the AH is mandatory, theres no way around it. and Blizzard know this.


Honestly, he has blown so much smoke up peoples ass's with this post I find it difficult to belive that he has not sat behind his desk and though " I better make a post about somthing to distract people from all the fuckup's in the game" and guess what, it worked, people lapping it up like a cat would drink fresh cream.

The solution is simple: stop playing the game. The one thing I'm truly boggled by on the internet is that people who loathe a game don't just stop playing they come on the forums and rage like it's going to make a difference (goes for all games, not just D3). I tried out Age of Conan and Warhammer Online. when I realized they sucked I stopped playing them and moved on to something else. I didn't rush to the forums and make up a bunch of guesses as to what the developers were doing and planning.

At this point nothing they say is going to make you happy, so that begs the question: Why are you still worried about it?

You're basically complaining about being forced to actually play the game for more than 20 seconds to get a boss drop. Guess what that's the point.

Man Blizzard could make you 100% happy if they just put a webpage up on BNet that generated a picture of a random loot drop and just let you spam click the "reroll" button until you got a perfect rare/legendary. And maybe a little message saying "you're an awesome player, nice work!" underneath.

Well of course at some level of imbalance things simply cease to work.

What if Wizards could do 100x the damage of any other class? Should Blizzard just leave it alone such that we're all forced to roll Wizards because the other classes are not compelling? What if porting in to the Alcarnus WP and farming the goblin there resulted in 15x the loot/hour as farming champs/rares?

The whole problem with lack of balance is that it *doesn't* allow people to play the game the way they want to. If everything is truly balanced then we are all afforded the ability to do X, Y, or Z, as long as they are all deemed to be legit ways to play by the game manufacturer.

Using my two examples there, you'd be an absolute fool to not play a Wizard who farms the Alcarnus goblin. The lack of balance leads directly to us not having legitimate choices as to how to play. And I'm all for honest-to-God legit choices in playstyle. What I'm *not* for is the "I wanna play that way, not the way Blizzard wants me to play" every single time something borderline exploitative comes up.

They don't need to fine-tune every aspect of the game, and every class doesn't need to do the exact same damage in absolute perfect gear. But they do owe it to us to at least keep everyone mostly on the same playing field and that applies to more than just class balance.

However, Bashiok has said on numerous occasions that they have multiple teams which work on different patches. 1.1.0 has been seeing work done to it for probably around a month now, the same for 1.0.4. The idea that you need to "organize" people to alert Blizzard that you want something done is moronic because Blizzard is already aware of many of the changes that the game requires. At some point you have to read what they're saying instead of just bitching, bitching, bitching and demanding changes. The 50,000th post about how bad legendaries are is NOT helping anything along after Blizzard already said multiple times they're in the process of reworking them.

So are you bringing something new to the table, or are you just complaining about things that are already slated to be fixed?

I think you're overlooking the part where they are listening to their fan base. They are making these suggestions as a compromise because there are a lot of people who swap items for MF because they feel they have to in order to get ahead. They don't enjoy it or find it fun.

Some people DO enjoy it and that's why Blizz is trying to find some kind of middle ground. One that makes it so that players can still swap out gear when they need to deal with certain situations while preventing people from feeling the need to keep swapping their gear just to get some MF before an elite kill.
