    Quote from -Mephisto

If I am to believe that the universe is eternal, than I'd be a huge fucking dumbass. How can the universe be eternal? I mean, sorry, I just can't compute that thought. God is eternal, yes. Faith comes in in order for you to believe that he had no beginning, and has no end.

Well, if the universe is god, then it can be eternal. I'm taking a pantheistic approach here. I can't really discuss further about god because I don't know anything about Islam or the Quran, if that's what you believe in. Is god, acording to Islam, an actual being, with will, kind of like the christian one? (I know about religions in general, and I was educated as a christian, but I don't know about any other specific religion, so forgive me if I say something offesive or blatantly wrong) If you care to explain the basics of your religion to me, I could continue the disscusion.

Common sense dictates that if we're just living for the fuck of it, it's pretty retarded. I refuse to believe that I'm not living to achieve something when I die, that I'm just passing time, and I'm just another useless entity. I like to believe that my choices and the paths that I take can have repercussions.

That's not common sense, that's just you hoping that life has meaning. I wrote an essay about this once, criticizing Platon (pretty much the base of a lot of religions) I remember I quoted agent Smith
    Quote from name="Agent Smith" »

[The idea of love, or truth, or freedom (anything that transcends your life) are] the temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose.
Why does human life has to have meaning? And if it does, what is it? I believe we are just another animal that happened to develop a better brain than the other animals, and is capable to understand things other animals cannot. But that's it, we are superior, but we are still just animals, with no special meaning, no divine purpose, another "useless entity". When we die, the same thing that happens to animals will happen to us, whatever it is. Of course, this is all very subjective and I don't think there a way to really discuss this. It just depends on whether you believe, or you don't

posted a message on SC2 expansion release date hidden in-game?
So, after a while of playing SC2 I noticed something. When you open the game, the loading screen has James' face in what looks like Tychus suit. Once it's loaded, we can see Tychus' face. Interestingly enough, both have some blueish numbers and text on their right cheek. The text is pretty illegible, but the numbers are clearly visible. They are:

    02:16:06:11

This number appears in both of the characters' faces. Let's write them differently.

    02 = 16/06/11

Think about it, the second installment of the game (02) will be released in 16th June of next year (16:06:11). They did say that they wanted to release the exansion a year after the main game, and this is pretty close, almost 11 months. Plus, it can't be a coincidence, since it's in both of their faces, so it's a planned thing, not some random numbers. If they were random, they woudn't have used the same numbers for both. Besides, maybe players don't notice because they don't really look at it, but whoever it was at Blizzard that though of this number must have realized it looks a damn lot like a release date.

What do you think about this? Personally, I'd love if it was released in less than a year. And also important, if this turns out to be true, what does it mean for D3? I recall reading that they wanted to release D3 before SC2 expansion, but I'm not sure.

EDIT: I re-checked and the numbers on James' face are not those ones. My bad. They are on Tychus' face though, and much clearer than those on James' face.

EDIT 2: I'm talking about the offine menu screen. Here or here (less clear)

posted a message on Change the way the character moves in D3?
You all keep saying the camera needs to rotate to be able to use WASD properly. What if "W", instead of meaning "go forward" it means "go towards the mouse". Your character rotates if you move the mouse around him, he's always facing it. So the "A" and the "D" don't rotate, but strafe left and right. Of course this has a lot of disadvantages, specially when the mouse is below the char (left and right would get confusing), but it's a way of using WASD without the need to rotate the camera.

Point and click all the way though, I'm just throwing ideas around

posted a message on More Information on Resource Systems
Yay, at last I get mentioned in the front page! I'll mark this day in my calendar :P

I'm guessing the Instability resource has something to do with not using the same school of spells over and over, or you destabilize or something.

posted a message on Instability = Wizard's Resource
As you may be aware every class in Diablo III will have their own resource system. The Barbarian will use Fury; Witch Doctor, Mana; and Wizard, Instability. We also completed an early implementation of the Monk's resource system just before the holiday break, and that's continuing to undergo programming and visual refinement. It's a resource certainly fitting of a holy warrior.

This is from Diablo Facebook Page.

So, we finally get a name for the Wizard's Resource System. Instability. Sounds great.

I haven't had time to think how it would work, I'll post my ideas later. But do you guys think?

Also, we get some scarce info on the Monk's Resource. I guess the most interesting part of that is how Blizz refers to the monk as a Holy Warrior.

EDIT: Now that I think of it, this should be moved to General D3 section, since it contains info about the Monk also.

The need to trade and buy is the positive change o.O I want more management and interaction. You don't and that is why this discussion is pointless.
