posted a message on Diablo MMO Hinted?
I dont get why everyone is jumping on the "MMO" bandwagon. Diablo would make a horrid MMO unless it breaks the monotonous MMO staple. I hate the same-old "click n wait" gameplay mostly all MMOs have and it wouldnt work for Diablo. we'd need a hack n slash MMO.

and just cause they say "we have more things in store for the Diablo series" doesnt mean its gonna be an MMO. it could mean more games in the series that dont focus on the current storyline, a movie, an animated series, a toy line, a fast food joint, anything.

I dont think Blizzard would even have another pay-to-play MMORPG so soon either. it would seriously cut out WoW's subscribers. its never a good idea for a company to have multiple MMOs, unless they differ drastically from each other to warrent diff playstyles, gameplay and theme - to attract players who arent interested in playing the other MMO. And if Diablo's art direction is any indication, we'd have 2 WoWs, which wont help much.

D3 is worth holding out for until the expansion then. thats if they actually put the only class worth playing the game for back in.

i really hope they dont require online to play, like ya know, make it so to even play single-player you have to still be connected to their servers. cause that would totally suck.

i dont like playing online, i rather play offline. i always play D2 offline by myself. if i wanted to play with someone, it would only be with someone whom i personally know IRL. thatd be thru LAN or TCP/IP which i hope they still have.

i dont mind being able to bring my offline single-player guy online (Open Bnet) if i felt like it, but i dont want to strictly be online.

Diablo series isnt an MMO, dont force us to play online.

posted a message on Bashiok Answers Gameplay Video Concerns
i find it sickening that the critters are gonna be killable. while i was wathing the video i was glad that the little bunnies where just for show and they didnt die. i find it horrible that they are now "fixing" it so they can be killed. Blizzard was always sick like that, i hate how in WoW they make all the critters killable. they make it so children arent killable, but why arent the critters as well?

at least make some kinda option that you can shut off critter kills. you know, some ppl are very sensitive about that kinda stuff. critter killing doesnt belong in these kinda games. it changes the whole game dramatically.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Not An MMO
an MMORPG using the Diablo universe would ONLY be good if they got rid of the boring old "click and wait" mechanic that EVERY MMORPG suffers from these days (i dont see why there isnt any hack n slash MMORPGS), if there was NO RAIDING or grouping needed (needing other ppl to kill bosses like Diablo, Baal, etc. would be really lame and stupid), and if there was actual awesome chara customization (which Blizzard seems to not care about (look at WoW).

so, im glad they are sticking with the same old Diablo gameplay.

posted a message on Blizzard: Why Corpses Vanish
i dont see why they cant just make an option in the graphic settings:

    []corpses vanish immedietly
    []corpses vanish after {insert seconds/minutes here}
    []corpses vanish never

making the coprses vanish like that is just really disapointing. and, the graphics on D3 arent awesome, most PCs these days can handle that fine.

posted a message on Official BlizzCast 5 Q&A Submissions
    1. is D3 gonna still be solo oriented? one of things i really liked about D2 is that you can beat the whole game on every difficulty by yourself. the only reason I ask this is cause i see so many things about D3 being "co-op oriented". i dont see any reason for this game to change from the past formulas, but just thought id ask. it is a concern for me cause i dont like games where you need other ppl to play the whole game (MMOs, for exp.). is there still gonna be LAN and TCP/IP?

    2. is the original Diablo item rarity colouring gonna still be used? i saw a purple item dropped in the video and purple = epics in WoW. i think it very disappointing if the WoW item rarity colouring is gonna be used instead of the staple Diablo one.

    3. is there gonna be items that can only be gotten online again? (ie - Ladder only items). i hated that, cause it prevents offline solo-players from ever getting these.

    4. are you considering more that just 5 classes at game launch? to me, that is too small (it worked for D2, but hey, that is an 8 year old game and was a step up from D1). and i would like if more D2 classes would make a comeback (ie, Necromancer). i saw that it was said that "less classes can make them more diverse and different", but WoW had 9 classes on launch and they where all diverse and different.

    5. this may be a little too early to know, but, is D3 gonna have copy-protection on the disc(s)? reason i ask is cause alot of CP methods, (like StarForce, SecuRom, SafeDisc, etc...) are very intrusive and can actually ruin a PC. so i hope that you guys consider not putting that on the game.

posted a message on Please, Blizzard, let there be a monthly fee.
pay to play doesnt keep out the "14 yr old Bnet kiddies". and saying something like that seriously makes me think YOU are immature yourself. you know, there is plenty of adults in the world who behave more immature than a 14 yr old. age doesnt mean a thing. and, in every MMO that has a payed subscription there is idiots, immatures, scammers and hackers everywhere.

raising the price just because someone hacked or cheated? thats gonna make the player unsubscribe, not pay more. and Blizzard would just ban the player anyway, which is more logical.

and paying for content in a non-MMORPG is absurd. we CAN play this game offline, i know i am exclusively. if i get shut out on content just cause im playing offline, thus not subscribing, id be pretty upset.

i like the idea of respecing. when you 1st play you are most likely gonna put a point into a skill you may later regret (im sure some ppl did this in D2). being "stuck" with the points you lost is very hampering indeed and noone should be forced to restart their chara over in that case.

but it shouldnt be like WoW. respecs shouldnt be that easy. i think it should be like one side-quest you can only do once per difficulty that rewards you a respec. or maybe a rare item that doesnt drop often. something like that.

posted a message on What Diablo 2 Classes do you want to see returning
i really hope that they still include the necromancer. hes the only class i like playing with. if hes not in D3, then i dont see a reason to continue playing it after i beat it once and i will go back to playing D2. basically, D3 will have no replay value, to me. i will still play D3 thru (since i really like Diablo story & lore), but i just wont be able to keep a grasp on the game and continue playing it, there would be no reason for me to. it would be majorly disappointing.

However, i would like only the epic drops to be boe, so that way you spend more time playing and less time trading.
i myself never trade and always get my things myself (is more fun!), but i just dont like restrictions in games. i hated the binding in WoW, just feels like too strict. and, i dont want Diablo to turn into World of Diablocraft. im just saying, dont want ideas from WoW in D3.
and, no one is forcing anyone to trade. its not the games problem that ppl wont work for themselves. they just decide to take the easier route.

posted a message on Φ Diablo III Art Design Direction Survey
the only thing that really stood out to me was the hotbar. the icons for the skills look TOO bright. i think they should be dull monotonish in colour to fit in with the setting. like D2's skills, they where white pics on a stonish background. the ones in the D3 video where all bright orange and stuff. doesnt really fit in.

and, in the video i saw an "epic" (purple) item drop at the end. i really hope Blizzard isnt gonna implement the WoW item colouring in. the one that the Diablo series had for the past 2 games is fine and it will only cause confusion in changing it (unless that was a blue magic item and my eyes are messed up, kinda was hard to see).

posted a message on Diablo III Overview
Blizzard has said that the Witch Doctor doesnt replace the Necromancer and that having the WD in the game doesnt mean that the Necromancer cant be in it either. i am hoping they still put the Necromancer in game. besides, the WD doesnt even seem like a pet class, sure he has pets, but so did the Druid. the WD looks like he holds his own with a variety of different spells - kinda like a jack-of-all-trades.

also, the number of classes havent been finalized yet. they said in an interview after the site had been put up. the FAQ on the D3 site is sorta outdated then. i do expect way more than 5 classes, only 5 is a really small number for a game coming out in 2008+. i was hoping if they ever made a D3 that theyd at least still keep all the classes from D2 plus a few new ones. imo, that would make alot more sense and not disapoint anyone that their favorite class got the shaft.

D3 isnt prob coming out untill 2009/2010... sadly. no one should expect a 2008 release. the game still seems like its in a bit of an early stage. (and everyone knows how Blizzard likes to build anticipation with us all :P)

the only things though that i hope blizzard doesnt mess up is, is that they better not put any sort of item binding in the game (like in WoW). it seriously ruins the trading aspect of online games (and doesnt fit in the D world). and, i hope that they dont make it so better items drop if your in a group. i want all equality for soloers and groupers. not everyone is gonna play online. hope there is still TCP/IP/LAN too. and, i wouldnt mind the return of Open/Closed Battle.net servers.

and, lastly, i kinda would like if theyd at least let you change your characters face/hair style too. it would give a bit more diversity. i know, most of the time your gonna have armour and a helmet/mask on, but still....
