Who said you cant convert. They said players WILL BE ABLE to sell their currency (gold) in RMAH. But the money they put into their Blizzard Purchase Account is non refundable. Only can beused to buy Blizzard products or ingame items.Quote from isobar
The first thing that comes to my mind, is if you can sell items for ecurrency, or money, but can't convert ecurrency into money is what is to stop people from setting up multiple accounts, one of them stocking up ecurrency, and then buying their own items on the other account with it set up to be cash instead of ecurrency?
Seems like a pretty easy way to get your eccurency out of into your bank account.
So if you do stock up gold on your char you can still sell it for real money.
I strongly suggest you guys re-read the Official QnA from Blizzard on the home page
By default, money that people buy items for will be added to the sellers e-balance (or gold total, if they sell in gold). However, it will also be possible to set up your account so that it will be added your credit card. This will require adding a third party payment service to the account to handle the actual transaction. Blizzard is currently negotiating with potential companies at this point in regards to who will handle this service, so at this point we don't know who it will be or in what regions they will operate. However, it will be possible to make money selling items in Diablo III. What will not be possible, however, is to convert your e-balance back into cash. So if you sell an item and haven't set up your account to give you cash, it will increase your e-balance instead. That e-balance cannot later be withdrawn as cash, but it can be used to buy other items and anything in the Blizzard store, including games and WoW subscription time.
Doesn't this nicely written article with the bolded sentence say that it can't be converted back to real cash? Why should I go back and reread it? I think you just misunderstood my post and/or just pointed out another flaw to get around not being able to directly convert your e-balance into cash. I said set up multiple accounts and buy your other account's money, you said buy and resell gold for real money. Similar ideas, but both basically point out the flaw in not allowing you to withdraw e-balance.

If you could take a minute or two and register on the site and become a fan of them, it would greatly help their chances of winning. If you have facebook you can also click the like button and that helps too. They are in 2nd place in the Detroit region, and I believe if they get into first they get to go to Vegas for something and a shot to win some money.

Yes, there is wifi everywhere. Generally not always free. modems from those carriers all cost like 30-40 bucks a month for a plan. I don't want to pay $50-60 for a game, then $30 a month for wifi so I can play it whenever I want. Yes, I probably spent 90% of my D2 playtime on B-net, but the other 10% was spent on single player, or doing LAN with friends. Now we literally can't do either. As people said earlier, what if your power goes out and you figure you can spend a bit playing on your laptop while you wait for it to get back on. There are many reasons I can think of playing a game without needing wifi.
Damn you D3, I will still buy you, but with much anger if you have to have internet to play single player.

I'm not a SC fan at all, but I do know it was cracked and playable before the game was even released. If there is a single player where you just have to have a verified account, it will get hacked. If there is no single player, then it's a terrible decision all together and a shame really.

Why not have set items be completely random with the exception of what the set bonuses are?
This would make every set item you find worthwhile, and make it worth having the full set as well. So basically they would be like random magic/rare items stat wise, but with set item bonuses. Also maybe make them have 1 or 2 stats that always stay the same. Also to go along with your idea of making different tier items if found on harder difficulties.
A few examples
"Merlin's Ring"
+100-150 mana
+10-20 Intelligence
+random stat (If found on normal)
+random stat (If found on nightmare)
+random stat (IF found on hell)
Achille's Sword
+200-300% Extra damage
+20-30% Attack speed
+random stat (If found on normal)
+random stat (If found on nightmare)
+random stat (IF found on hell)
So you get better items for finding them in harder modes and set items could be viable for top end game items.
To me this fits the Diablo item system more, as I never was a fan of unique items all being the same, as if they are unique, shouldn't there only be one of them? But it also makes sense that famous items would be replicated, but never done exactly, which explains why they have a few of the same item stats, and then random stats spawn with it.

The only true solution I can see to rewarding pvp is to do it per match. So it would be just like Call of duty, except if you get first place, you get XXX gold, YYY exp and a few random items, and then scale it for each person in the game. All rewards are catered to the average level of the people in the game, so you couldn't have a lvl 99 go into a game of 30s, own and get an awesome item.

The biggest problem with giving out pvp rewards is how easy it becomes to manipulate. You see games in CoD where people basically just take turns killing each other till someone gets one under the limit, then they rejoin and keep doing it.
There really is no way around this either, as if you are in a duel game you are going to be fighting the same people for awhile, so it's not like they could limit it to you only gain exp for the first time you kill someone. This is why I never agree on pvp having item drops and exp, just too easy to cheat the system. At least with pve you have to earn what you do, even if it's just leeching.

This is my wish, if you die in hardcore, your items drop to the ground, and your character turns from HC to SC. If they have shared stashs, then you wouldn't have to worry about losing anything in your stash, so it'd work well and allow you the option to keep playing.

Can't say it's any different than playing ladder, except the mentality of hardcore players being elitists. You play ladder because you want a fresh start and new items, but when the ladder ends everyone gets dumped back into non-ladder, you play hardcore because you want the challenge of being the best, if you die your character obviously can't play hardcore anymore, so most people who play HC would just start a new one, but for the player who wasn't too into it, they could just keep going with the game and not be out any time.
