I have to admit I laughed a bit when I read the blog post. Hopefully, their work on the expansion isn't progressing at the snail's pace the patches are. I can't see myself getting back into the game until a damn good expansion comes along. And even then, I'd be a little bit skeptical.
In an interview a good while back, Jay said (I'm paraphrasing a bit) that being too picky with game mechanics makes the game feel too mechanical and a bit sterile, and they wanted to avoid that. That's exactly how D3's gameplay feels to me, which is a bit ironic. They really need to stop spending several months adjusting the tiniest things.

Mar 30, 2012Yngvar posted a message on Inferno Monster Levels No Longer Linear, More Fansite Q&A, Bashiok on Runes, Blizzard FacebookHmm. I'd like to see them at least include an unlockable option after finishing Inferno, where you can enable the max level monsters throughout all acts. I was kind of excited about that feature, and I'm a bit sad to see it go away.Posted in: News

Oct 23, 2010Yngvar posted a message on Wilson on Diablo III and Press ConferenceThe separation of PvE and PvP will probably upset some people, but I have to admit I love it. I do hope, though, that the PvP enthusiasts will get some more room to play around in. The arena I've seen so far seems a bit small. Especially if the character movement speed will be increased by any considerable amount.Posted in: News

Oct 9, 2010Yngvar posted a message on Iron MaidenI agree with you, exen. I like the slightly exaggerated armors. I don't think I'd like armors in Diablo being quite as cartoony as the ones in Warcraft, but the similarities we're seeing so far are completely okay.Posted in: News
If they make armors more "realistic" we'd risk having very underwhelming end game characters, and in my opinion, that would be much worse than looking a bit like WoW. -

For those listening to the latest Activision Blizzard conference call, Mike Morhaime also mentions it there as well.
Confirmed by Blizzard employees on forums as well, so yes, the new Battle.net will definitely be free. -

how long did that take you?
It took about a week to finish. I didn't work non-stop, of course. I'm not sure exactly how many hours it took. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

And on the subject of Tyrael tattoos, if I had one of those, I don't think I'd regret it just because the new Tyrael isn't as cool. The new Tyrael would not have been the reason for getting the tattoo, after all.

That's not quite accurate. I had a ton of fun playing D2 solo, and I'm extremely opposed to bots or anything of the sort. And many of my friends played the same way.

Also, the dinosaur part gave me a good laugh.

Also, no, you don't add up the damage from both weapons when comparing to the damage of a daibo. I believe it's the average damage of the two, and then a 15% increased attack speed on top of that.

I really don't see a reason to be so pessimistic about this. The game is still a work in progress, just like Diablo 2 was for quite a while after it launched. I agree that the game is not quite where I'd want it to be right now, but I'm pretty sure the guys over at Blizzard are capable of improving it to a point where it'll last for years.
I'm not saying you shouldn't voice your concerns about it. In fact, I would encourage you to do so. But the situation isn't as hopeless as you seem to try to make it sound like.
