posted a message on Group Ver Solo Conversation

I also prefer to play Diablo solo, but the group bonuses aren't what I feel are the problem. It's everything else you get from grouping. Want to do bounties? Or would you prefer to do them 4x as fast? Want to farm machines? Or farm machines 3-4x as fast? Want to kill ubers? Or kill them faster and spend 1/4 the machines.

I don't mind multiplayer giving a % bonus to things, I DO mind it being a ridiculous requirement to not feel like you're wasting your time. I feel like a buffoon doing bounties solo, it's simply a stupid way to do it. And it shouldn't be.

Just to clarify, does 2.3 still have multiplicative exp bonus in grifts for gear bonuses?

I would say unity if not using zodiac ring. Maybe RORG if you need it?

In that screenshot you have 4 abilities on cooldown. That's your problem. Dump CoTA, save Ignore Pain for emergencies. Get Unity as your cubed jewelry (now you can save IP). Use Rend instead of CoTA, Use Swords to Plowshares if you need more healing.

posted a message on Question about Weapon %damage priority

That's the answer I've came to, every alternative gimps my damage much more than the gain I get from the %Damage. Guess I just need a better ancient version with additional stat.

posted a message on Question about Weapon %damage priority

Hey everyone, I've got a bit of a problem trying to properly fine-tune my gear. I have a decent ancient BK set, but for the longest time, I've had to keep LOH on one of them, because it gives me soooo much survivability to have 24k more LoH (Only have that + PP)

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/paulacid-1328/hero/1594893

(ignore the gems and Unforgiving passive, just T6 farming changes)

I'm wondering, I know it's optimal to have +10% damage on weapons, but it makes such a small difference in my damage numbers when I make the change, but a DRASTIC drop in healing. Any suggestions on how to not lose that sweet sweet lack of death? Would you keep it where it is? If you'd change it to 10% damage where would I make up the survivability/healing?

I do have an ancient String of Ears I can replace the Witching Hour with, but then I can't hit the 7.5DD breakpoint, which is oh-so-nice.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, but it's about 4x more likely in Act 1. So if you need the ring, do that.

I have to agree with swebarb though, Blizzards Server for PTR (not only D3) are really poor, compared to say World of Tanks or WarThunder (also big companies with big playerbase). Obviously a lot of people want to test out new content before it goes live, that's totally normal and should not be judged as a negative thing, especially when Blizzard promotes the PTR as "public". That means everyone is invited, not just the die-hard fan or serious tester, the demand for PTR D3 has always been this high, it's really weird that Blizzard does not want to provide a little more resources so more people can test the new content reasonably. So far my experience with 2.3 PTR has been:

Play 2 hours when PTR got live, endless queue times, giving up after 2 days. Got to play 2 hours on Monday, get terminated. I have not tested a single piece of new content except unlocking the cube, not once could I store the power of a legendary, thus I, as a valid customer of upcoming content can not give feedback. The feedback Blizzard gets is not represented by me so that's a bummer.

Great. Your argument is valid. This is the first time in this thread I've seen a cogent description of this complaint without sounding whiny or voicing silly expectations. I still don't think it means Blizzard needs to do anything. The PTR is not a game they are offering you to play. As far as I know its primary purpose is for bug testing, not for soliciting player opinions on content. Plus there could be quite a bit of testing involving player thresholds and how the servers react when at or near capacity.

Im used playing world of tanks, when they have a test server of upcoming patch u can always get in and test all content, why should this be different blizz are just cheap and the excuse for a server that low capacity dont hold any waters? everyone should be able to play some the whole thing if server is full means its working and u can sit there like idiot wait to get in is already old.... then it shouldnt be called public and they make blue posts how everyone can play it.. yea right.

Yikes. The childish idiocy is strong here. I hate to use the word "entitled" as it's been overused for years. But come on dude. If you want to play Diablo, they have servers for that. They are incredibly stable and have VERY little downtime. I've never heard of issues regarding overpopulation. The test servers are not your game. They are a place you can volunteer to help the game developers. Perhaps you should read the other 8 million posts that say this same thing. Your attitude makes you sound 13.

And what about us that just wants to test out the new gear and sets? Should we really take the time to grind it out on a PTR? I just want the things so I can try them out, that's what the PTR is all about.

Well no. The PTR is all about testing. The opportunity to see and try the new stuff is simply an incentive so people will use it. A very effective incentive, obviously.

Disclaimers won't matter to people that bitch about the PTR. They're just ignorant tools. This thread comes up a dozen times every time they launch a new PTR. "Blah blah blah my special early access server wahh!" is all I hear.

posted a message on Why is everything being terminated?

Expecting a test server to be fixed quickly is absurd. It's there to test, they don't want to "quickly fix" this problem, they want to figure it out in-depth so it won't be repeated on the real servers.

It always baffles me when people treat test servers as a place to compete. It's not. There's probably broken stuff, and it's there to find it.

I'd say gift: 5b at least. If you can't get one now, it shouldn't be easy to buy one. You could probably farm up 5b gold in like 3 hours anyway.

It would need to be 1b gold to take any sort of effort. They could still be easily farmed. Probably too easily.
