So, when I observe the member/guest information that display by default at the bottom of the forum listing, the number of guests is typically around 100. However, when I go in to "Who's Online", this shows up:
Why is total guests set to "0"? Is this a bug or is it supposed to be this way? It's not really an issue, just a data inconsistency, it seems, to me. Not like it will hurt anyone's interaction experience on the forums. I just figured I ask.
I don't think it's an actual inconsistency; just a difference in coding.
"Who's Online" gives a list of registered members' names and their current activity.
Guests, lacking names, wouldn't be included in that particular query, so the number of guests is reflected as 0, there.
The tally down below probably calls simply for a count of people online at the time; with the IP addresses that lack a 'registered' flag being counted as a guest.
Edit: Actually, they should probably remove "Guests" from the "Who's Online" section if it is always going to reflect 0.

However if memory serves, I seem to recall having been able to see guest activity in the past. Instead of an account name, all entries would simply read "guest".
