As discovered by Num3n, it is apparently possible to edit your post by first clicking on a link, and before the new page loads, hit the edit button.
It works for me if I click on the forum links above every forum that show you which forum you're in at the moment, for example:
Diablo 3 News Forums > Diablofans.com Discussion > Site Suggestions and questions
After clicking any one of them, hitting the edit button afterwards allows me to edit.
It doesn't necessarily have to be those links, any links seem to work. If your post is far down on the page, the top links aren't accessible. The profile links work in those cases for me.
It does not however work if I first press the quote button and then hit the edit button, however for Num3n it apparently does, and it's much easier to use effectively.
Let us know which method works for you, if either does.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Yep, it works, although you have to be fast (really fast, especially me, i have a rather fast internet connection), but it works. Thanks Num3r for discovering this temporarily solution.
Edit: Just tried the hit quote, then edit button (which is of course much more convenient) and this also works for me.
my name is Num3n on Num3r
* i think i should change my name to UltraViolence like i use in games now... Anyway a mod could change it for me?
My connection/computer is too fast for this particular work-around to work. The pages load before I can even move my mouse to the edit button, much less click it.
Of course it would work for Num3n on Num3r (that's a weird name, dude... what's the weather like on Num3r, anyway?), he has computer issues that make this site load slow for him.
Doppel: Yep, tried both methods. It loads too fast in either case.
I can get to the edit screen when I merge posts, but that method isn't available to regular users, and it's possible to muck it up, as I've done, here, by pulling the posts out of their original order.
Oy.

EDIT 2: Yeah it works.
