i've notice that if you go to quick links "who's online" after awhile it refreshes itself. My question is why don't the "New Posts" refresh automaticly every so often?

Must not be a popular area like the Who's Online section. And the changes in the Who's Online section is bound to be more rapid than any other section. I'm not sure the New Posts section really needs an auto refresher.
Thanks just thought it might help a lil

Well, as a wonderful man, my opinion is somewhat definitive. But yes, that's just my opinion. And no, I can't force other staff members as of now to go and look at your suggestion. They'll look at it when they're good and ready. I think it's just me and Anakyn here now anyway.
Yeah and I've never used it either. Especially on a slow day like this, you can just refresh the home page and see all the threads that have been responded to again.
Who's Online is coded to refresh as often as it does, due to the fact that it's almost constantly changing, the second I leave this thread I change the Who's Online page and it will refresh, and so will anyone else the second they do something new.
Replies can come in intervals of anything from between a millisecond to 24 hours to a week to god forbid a month or even longer.
And besides, there is the F5 key you know. And technically the page updates every time you go to it. You might not see a new reply, but check the numbers in the replies/view boxes. They are almost always changing.
I wouldn't even know if it is possible to do your suggestion, it's hard coded into Vbulletin the way the majority of this site (and other sites that use the program) work.

LOL
I really have no basis to form an opinion on the difference in refresh rate for those two functions, because I don't use the 'New Posts' link, myself.
As to whether or not it's even possible to have the New Posts auto-refresh, that's a question for an Admin.
