Did anyone notice in the gameplay footage, the dead Witch Doctor's body didn't vanish.
After being stomped or yelled at to death, whatever the hell happened to her.
And then she got tossed in the air afterwards, which was hysterical.
Blizzard are just trying to make up excuses so they can pussy foot arround it like usual, and your right about there wow profit, take this for example if you pay the $14.95 a month and for example times that by say 4 million people thats like $59800000, and im sure WOW has more than 4million playing it, there just wow heads who obviously dont give a shit.
Having the corpses stay is a key feature to Diablo, its a hack and slash gore fest vs demons of every kid there bodies are just gonna magically vanish.
exactly and pretty much everyone these days as a pretty decent or high end computer to run this stuff with ease, i recently upgraded my computer to handle the games ive got and the ones to come, if blizzard make the game abit darker and get rid of the vanishing corpses id be really happy and would spend my cash on the game, but as it is right now i wouldnt bother, for one reason only it looks to much like titan quest.
O nd 5 chars isnt enough make it 7 like LOD :P.
But its good that they are actually reading peoples concerns and complaints about certain things in the game thus far.
It may have some influences graphically, but knowing blizzard, gameplay will be awesome.
Where do you need 7 classes? THe 2 extras in LOD was damn useless and sucky classes anyways. Just have 5 really unique ones that are all fun to play.
About the corpses, I don't really care about their physics after they are dead. Maybe after 5-10 corpses the physics calculations could stop running on them and after you move away from the area the corpses could dissappear.
Anyways I'm not too bothered about them disappearing.
i want 7 classes or so because its only logical to have more, the druid classes was good i loved him but yes the assassin did suck, D1 had 3 classes, D2 had 5 then LOD made it 7, so D3 should at least have arround 7ish then if by some miracle Bliz make an expansion maybe 9?, i just see it as them being lazy.
And i dont doubt the game play will be awesome, but it still needs to be darkened abit specially in the dungeons, and the gore needs to stay not vanish.
Vanishing Creatures is bull, Titan Quest had high Physics, and just and very good graphics, yet all the creatures / items remained on the ground with no slow downs at all. The world was seamless with no loads either.
Yeah and having all the 7 old ones and adding 2 new ones wouldn't really bring much new to the game if there was 1 old one and 8 new ones it would be quite a lot of work for the devs and I rather see 5 good classes than 9 semi good. I guess they have 1 old one and 4 new ones?
In d2 I always had 1 pala 1 ama 1 necro then a lot of barbs and couple of sorcs (if we only count 1 mode hc or sc) So having 9 classes in my perspective would lead to situation where I would probably only play 5 of them. Maybe test a few more later.
But anyways this is going off topic. Lets stick to the corpses!
lol valid points yes, but im not talking about the 7 old chars maybe 4 barb nec paladin and sorceror, with 3 new chars, thats what id like to see not 4 old ones with 1 new one.
I think they should keep it as an option for us to enable/disable.
As is i reckon my comp is more than capable of playing this game, but i'm going to upgrade a bit never the less, i would love if the corpses remain.
TQ didn't have mountains upon mountains of enemies though, if every single one of corpses remained in the trailer it probably would have slowed, though I am sure they can do better than the current set up. At least have set number stick around and not all disappear.
Titan quests story line was terrible, and it had no gore what so ever, and its loot system was buged/shit, they also didnt have anything like battle.net in order to play online u joined someone elses game they made which had 400-600 ping and you couldnt do shit.
Well after u leap again with your barb it looks kinda cool when the existing corpses still move around but hm ye I guess even 1 minute wouldn't be bad time after the corpses would stay still and physics wouldn't affect anymore. When the barb fights the ghouls at start it takes like 1 minute for him to beat them at least. So after that you move to next area and it doesn't matter how the corpses are moving there anymore.
Altho we don't know much about the game in the later levels, will there be massive fights etc.
they already mention in the official site about the reanimation process of the skeletons.

a reanimated skeleton is actually constructed from bits and pieces of any number of different skeletons, not a single one. Their diverse composition gives them the ability to form and reform, and makes them easily summoned, permitted there is adequate raw material at hand. Still, this is not to say that a skilled necromancer could not call forth a cadre of skeletal warriors to do his bidding anywhere he chooses. He merely requires less effort to construct a skeleton army in a graveyard than in the middle of a forest.
saves them the trouble to explain how a skeleton was summoned without a corpse around.

Haha they fade out corpses cuz they have high physics cost? thats the stupidest thing i've heard because they can turn their physics reaction off any time (lets say 10-15 secondsafter death) by which time it wont be needed and they will cost no more than a grass! are blizzard insane!?
how crappy would it look to leap/smash them (after their death) and remain as if they arent there?
I dont mind how it is and their explanation is pretty good to me. Grass isnt the same, you cant throw it off cliffs and it cant move around as corpses can.
cry more because apparently you cant do anything else.

It would look less crappy than having them fade after a few seconds, thats for sure! Knocking ragdols around was "exciting" many years ago now, why should immersion and theme be kicked out so a barbarians hammer can always magically toss the bodies around. =/
I would prefer my corpses to "bounce and fall and fly around" over having a large, 300-style heap of them. Espececially if we can continue to smash the corpses for a while.
Has anyone considered that they simply don't have a choice in the matter. Top Blizzard guys may just say, "the game has to meet a minimum of x specs. Work around that number." They may just be trying to save on resources and not have a billion bodies lying around. Who knows, maybe they left the corpses around in a test and found on some levels the demand made on the computers were just too high because the body count is astronomical.

I'd rather have 4-5 good classes than 7 so so classes. Obviously the less classes, the more thought will be put into them.

Now really why is this such a issue, ok add the option, does it really add that much to gameplay or atmosphere?

This is going to take away a large chunk of fun from the game for me if it stays like that.
