The first is originally how we would design unique pages because it's very useful to be able to compare them easily in one window.
However I rather like the axe version here. It serves much the same function, allowing you to overview all items easily. Thoughts?
EDIT: Come on people, I need some opinions here. What do you thinK, should we change to the larger format of the first link or stay with the smaller format in the second link?
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

thus it would be a good idea to stick with the cap format or pages would be huge :/

I like the axe page better as looks a little more informative.
Personally I am going to lean with Venom here. First of all, the idea of compiling all uniques on one page, for example Unique Axes (Diablo II), is to allow for better comparison and overview. That I think, carries over to normal items.
If you want to create a runeword, you want to know how the different helms of the same item level compare, not how normal and exceptional versions of one helm compare. You're never going to put a Breath of the Dying in an exceptional weapon anyways, so what's the use of comparing the two?
If we put them all on one page however, a visitor can easily compare all items of a given tier and select whichever one is best.
The crunch question would be, does it look cluttered? I don't think so, and besides, the table of contents at the top lets you easily get to what you want in any case.

Which one looks best?
