I can get on my computer for about 30 minutes before it freezes up. It seems that my comp is REALLY infected but i can't get any of it out, or identify it.
Mcafee can't identify any of them.
It seems that I cant wipe my comp and reinstall XP either. My cop won't let me.
Anyone have any advice or know of any programs that will work well?

Thanks for referencing AVG, wasn't sure if it was legit or not.

Formatting your computer means completely refreshing your hard drive. It flushes all the data.
You probably have the conficker virus. It's not picking it up because it won't allow your computer to update itself to detect it. The best thing I can suggest is to back up any files you don't want to lose and reformat your hard drive.
If your supplier is like Best Buy, you can bring it in and they would do it for you for a fee.
Wada ya mean "supplier"? Because I bought my PC directly from dell. Should I lie and say I bought it there or will they ask for a receipt?

Dell should have discs also. Just call, tell them the brand and product number and some other crap and you can get the discs. When my hard drive crashed I had to get new disks because my hardware doesn't have XP friendly drivers.
thats another thing. if your going to reformat your computer. i would highly suggest to copy your drivers folder/s. lol. cause it is one pain in the arse to find all your drivers and reinstall them.
Hopefully you dont have that Conficker.c virus, you know, the April Fool's virus. It's already infected up to like 10 million cpu's, I read about it just the other day on cnn.com.

Appreciate it. I will definitely call up Dell now

which in terms deletes every single peice of data and installing a new operating system.
if you have another hard drive. i would suggest setting your virus infected hard drive as a slave drive. and then copy important files over.
or if your lazy like me. then just delete them and start from square 1.
