Will there be in game voice chat supported in SC2? (teamliquid.net)
Yes, there are plans to implement voice chat into Battle.net, but details beyond that are yet to be announced.
This isn't a new post but I haven't seen it posted anywhere on this site that it will be included. But, it has been said that the details for the battle.net to be used for Diablo III will be relased when Starcraft II comes out. So, it seems safe to assume that StarcraftII and D3 will use a similar overhauled battle.net system. Thus, VOICE CHAT for D3!....Maybe.
Yay..good to know that it will be implemented; although think it would be kinda stupid of them not to. Thanks for posting this; even though it's not really "news" I guess?
Well considering it is "new" it would be "news". Voice chat would be great if a headset came with D3, so people don't buy the shitiest one they can find.
Thats a great idea asynchronic. I could see them making voice mods so people could sound like Decard cain or like warriv that would open up alot of possibilities especially now that you can choose your gender like i can sound like a male/female wizard.
You know ,Diablo should have an in game report button ,for example - you play with someone ,and he uses voice chat and clearly he is no more then 11 but the games rating is M ,meaning he is not allowed to play it ,and you could just report him for something like underage and Blizz would kick him out and request some sort of documents (don't know exactly what ,but something that prevents it)
Though I do believe this would never work ,cos there might be a situation with brothers ,when the big bro ain't home ,the lil' bro sneaks in to play D3 and gets the big bro's acount banned for being underage ,then the big bro comes home and beats the living shit out of the lil one.
THE END.
Im not 100% sure, but I dont think this would work.....Pretty sure anyone of any age can buy and M or A rated game if a parent or w/e does so for them if there like a guardian or w/e some shit like that...plus it would affect sales

Easy solution. Any voice transmitted over the mic that is above a certain frequency is automatically muted.
well i guess we can tell them to keep the squelch option after all
Yeah, it will be intersting to see if the bots use the voice chat. I suppose it would be better that filling the screen with a wall of text. But, what would be even better than that is better screening to get rid of them altogether.

I hope they also add a better friends list system than the command based crap they have now.
I don't want to listen to 12 year olds squeakily talk as I beat down the hordes of hell. ^^
CyberPunk RP Nexus
Surely you could turn it off.....god I would not want to hear all those 12 year olds scream racist and gay insults in dueling games...
Or even better, voice modulators to make them sound like demons.
Anyway, it will be cool to chat with people I know in game, much easier to teach them how to play that way.
