It just came to my mind that I can't think of a single referance to dragons in the Diablo world. No monsters, no stories, no items. Are they non-existent in Sanctuary? Perhaps they are mentioned in one of the books, or perhaps an item refers to a dragon that I haven't seen, but I don't think so. Do you? Would dragons be a good addition to Sanctuary and D3?

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I checked it up, and Trang-Oul is indeed a dragon. Now the obvious follow-up question to that is whether dragons exist or if they are simply stories. But with only one source, it points towards a fairy tale in Sanctuary.

Granted, he spreads terror, he has horns, spikes, sharp teeth, is powerful, controls fire and is a general badass. But, if this holds true, then a horse can be considered a human. They both have four extremites, two knees, they can jump, they are social animals, and very few are wild.
What Diablo lacks however is the abillity to fly, to actually breathe fire, scales and the general look of a dragon.

Dragons should exist somewhere due to some reasons.
1. Trang-Oul. Even if teh world isn't exacly on his back, he may well exist as a normal dragon.
2. Assassin skills. Dragon tail, claws, wing.
But, as you said, all of those examples (except the human ones) are either from heaven of hell. I can't really imagine dragons being from hell, but since we know so little about heaven, is it not possible that they live there perhaps?
