I'd like to request a graveyard in our B.NET profile where we can review all of our dead HC characters. If history is maintained it would help soften the blow of dying permanently, and make the experience of playing HC less daunting.
It could be something simple which just lists all of your characters, allows people to inspect each character to see the current equipment and skills you were using when killed, and the place/mode of death (i.e. Killed by "PlayerX" in a duel, Killed by a Grotesque in the Catacombs of Act 1, Normal, etc). It would also show which items were removed from the HC item pool with player inspect. "Wow, that person died with a Windforce and two SOJ's. Too bad..."
Yeah, when I first read about it it was like: "Right! You keep to see what your dead character accomplished and don't waste one of your character slots in the process! Brilliant!"
Props to the person who actually thought of it. Not sure if it was the one who posted it in the EU forums either.
I think that would be an awesome idea. It could be helpful towards getting further into the HC difficulties! I hope Blizzard puts this in sometime for all you HC players!
This wouldn't affect the game in a negative way no matter from what angle you look at it. I'm pretty sure that Blizzard could easily implement this, if not at launch, definitely with a patch. It would help if it got rated up in the respective Official forum threads too, so if you have access to those forums too feel free to rate it.
Sign me up! Save only the top 5 though or 10 although that's asking too much.

I love all loot fest kind of game! I will be playing all of them for the next few years. Loot fest games I'm looking forward to: LotR: War in the North,Torchlight 2,Borderlands 2 and of course Diablo 3.
I've never played hardcore much (a few levels in D2) but I also really like this idea. Maybe add an option to watch the last 30 seconds of their life or something, too. That would be really awesome.

hahaha, that would be hilarious! Think of the youtube videos, "Level 60 HC Barb gets it!".

Ladder-runners has a graveyard list and I think it's a great idea... It's the list all D2 HCC (Hardcore Classic) players use to keep up with one another from a global perspective.
There is literally no reason for them to not add this other than time consuming. I'd be far more likely to play hardcore if I knew that my progress wouldn't go completely to waste if I died for whatever reason.
Well, there should be ways to "let go" of some characters and move on.
Hehehe, that's because no one would like to keep a dead lvl-5 character in their graveyard, maybe you should have limited tombs so you could only remember your best dead characters.
Great idea!! I'd be far more inclined to try HC if that were implemented if for no other reason than to check it out. Any additional incentives to get others to try that mode would be a winner (so long as said feature doesn't change the gameplay of course.)
Maybe add an option to watch the last 30 seconds of their life or something, too. That would be really awesome.
Personally, if I could rewatch the last 30 seconds of some of my hardcore characters I would most likely spiral out of control into a bottomless pit of depression!

I really hope we have access to some data about our fallen HC characters, even if its only for our own eyes to see.

Checked and found it! Edited the Original post with links for both EU and US threads.

But it is a nice idea for sure.

This would free up the spots, and provide a good idea of what you can change.
