Right, so my Summonancer in Requiem of Sorrow needs some trimming. He is a mod characer, but he still has the same skills, same acts, same enemies and same mechanics that most info from regular LoD is still applicable.
And before you start whining about this mod being cheesy, enemies have been properly buffed in accordance with more powerful characters
----------
Currently he's level 103 (out of 125 max) and I have all the skills I want, but I have around 100 skills points I cannot invest anywhere. So I need some suggestions on that. I would also like any recommendations you have on increasing my damage. So here are some screenies:
Stats
Raise Skeleton
Raise Skeletal Warrior (new skill)
Besides my two summons I've maxed Skeletal Mastery (lvl 47) and Corpse Explosion (lvl 46), with one point in all curses (all are lvl 18), one point in clay golem, revive, summon resist and golem mastery.
Now I have a total of 103 skill points I can put elsewhere (when I reach lvl 125), but I don't know where to put them. I figure I don't need revive, since I can have more than the usual amount of skeletons. Clay golem does too little damage for anything, and I only use him for bosses anyway.
Skill max have been raised to lvl 30, so three skills can be potentially maxed. Any suggestions?
Amulet
Boots
My other equipment is:
Enigma
Shako
Homonculus
Magefist Gauntlets
Ravenfrost
Manald Heal
Beast runeword
and a few skill charms
My merc is a Might merc with Pride (yes I can have Ladder runewords), Guardian Angel, Andariel's Visage, and some other crappy stuff (and yes, Mercs can have a full inventory, so any suggestions for belt, gloves, boots, rings and amulets for an Act 2 merc are appreciated.)
Question is, can I raise my skeletons damage anyhow? I have them maxed and three dmg% auras, but still I find them unable to take down heavier foes.
New items have been added, so if anyone wants to bother looking through the lists, here they are:
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
I forgot to mention, there's a fourth skill tree with added passives that all classes share, but most of them are one-point wonders. They are in order:
Increase MF (5% per skill point)
Increase Experience (by 1% per skill level)
Increase Defense (diminishing returns)
Increase Block (diminishing returns)
Dagger Mastery (Increases dmg, AR, and gives critical hit)
Increased Life (Increases life by X%, diminishing returns)
Regeneration (Replenishes X life, diminishing returns)
Increased Mana (Increases mana by X%, diminishing returns)
Stat Points (Gives X additional stat points in every stat, diminishing returns)
Reduced Curse Time (reduces curse time by X%, diminishing returns)

iron golem ftw get ik maul and u have a heck of a cb golem
nice... i still have your skeles beat... just not the warriors
Oh really? Care to share some tips?
But wouldn't I have to resummon the Iron Golem every time I start a new game?
with that many skillpoints left you could go poison or bone
I was thinking about that, but I'm not a big fan of poison; and bone...
Let's say I try to max bone spear. I don't know the regular synergies, but Bone Spear in RoS gets bonuses from Bone Spirit, Teeth, Bone Wall and Bone Prison. That's five skills, to max all I need 150 skill points.
True, it's not necessary to max everything, but unless the damage is adequate it won't be of any use to me, so if there's any better option I'll go that first. My last resort will be to max bone spells.

well you could always try curses there better then any of those i know since curses stack on top of each other if u didnt know that
I already have 1 point in all curses, which with + skills bring them to 18, which is more than adquate, as the only notable increase with each level is radius.
Amplify Damage remains 100%
Decrepify remains at whatever values it has
Life Tap remains at 50%
etc.
And no, the only curse that does stack is Attract, but I never use that anyway.

go with the +life +mana and +skills
yea u have to summon him every game... i think
but that thorns is awsome... you have corpse explosion right??
Going for as much +skills as I can
Is the thorns only on him or do all my summons get thorns?
Of course I have CE, and with all the skill points I maxed it for maximum range

My merc, as I said, has Pride, Guardian Angel and Andariels Visage. He's a little behind in levels, about 85 I think, so I have some training to do with him. Might merc.
However he can now also wear gloves, boots, 2 rings, one amulet and a belt, but currently I just threw in whatever I had in my stash, as I'm unsure what he would need.

Won't you be able to play the original anymore when you install the mod? Or is there no danger for your original Diablo 2?
Depends on what mods. Requiem of Sorrow, which I am currently playing, does not change any game files, but puts all the mod files in a separate folder.
However it was made for parth 1.10, not 1.11b, and even though it works for the latter there may be bugs.
phrozendragon can you tell about mre mods
yea it would most good to hear about how that 4th skill tree works
I could do a whole new thread where I descibe the mod in detail. Skills for all characters, new items, cube recipies, areas, monsters etc.
As for other mods, up until this one I've always managed to pick the ones that never left beta stage (CryptForge and Kingdom of Tenai for example). I also played Zy-El, which is a huge mod changing almost everything in the game, but I didn't enjoy it that one much.

Where can I download Requim of Sorrow w/o needing an account on filefront .
You must have an account, but it is free.
You do not have to pay. When you get to the screen where it urges you to subscribe, there is a small link underneath the LOG IN button where you can register for a free account. Proceed and download.
Once installing, you do not have to back up anything. Requiem of Sorrow installs all new files in a separate folder, and keeps the old folder intact. You can still play on B.net whenever you want to.
