don't even look for a slit... look at the object at the base where the handle meets up with the blade. It's some star shaped object, while the base of the blade that tyrael is holding is completely different. They are holding two different weapons.
Yep, I noticed that and I, like you, think that they are holding two different weapons.
But in the end, one can argue that Tyrael's weapon is seen from a different angle in the video and "the sun" (the star shaped object) is on the other side of the spear.
why would blizz make two seperate weapons that look practically identical... the solarian is supposed to be unique they wouldnt make two of them
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere, maybe the book of cain but i can't locate the text atm, that The Hall of Judgements (Tyrael's home) also has a spear, though it was never actually wielded by Tyrael. Maybe now he has no choice as apparently his sword has been fractured.
Well... In the book of cain it is stated that valor will turn to wrath, which I believe means Imperius turns evil or maybe partners up with Diablo to destroy what he believes is "the greater of two evils" (the sinful offspring of angel and demon) and is then obviously betrayed by Diablo. Also, with the angel of valor gone, I suppose it could be possible that Tyrael would take his place? And since solarion is forged from light basically, it could take on a slightly different shape in different hands...
No it doesn't. You guys are taking it way too literally. It doesn't mean he becomes evil in the sense that he will join the demons.
Read the book of cain, it certainly helps with this stuff.
"His legendary Valor appears to come with the fatal flaw of pride. It is this pride and arrogance which have reportedly brought him into conflict with Tyrael, the archangel of Justice. This is due in large part to the pact Tyrael helped make between the Heavens and the Hells at the conclusion of the Sin War. The treaty brought the Eternal Conflict to a grinding halt, thus robbing Imperious of further opportunities to prove his valor in combat.
Since that time (and surely due in no small part to the later actions of Tyrael, as we shall see) it is said that Imperious has become a highly legalistic and unbending tyrant. Although it is likely not his intent, Imperious's obstinacy has allegedly caused disharmony to creep into the Angiris Council."
Basically he's not evil, but his pride has become misplaced and in so doing he's become some what of a tyrant (as he is the head of the council). If one looks at Imperius's character, I think it's rather hard to believe he would side with demons, period.
People saying these are spoilers are dumb; everything is speculated and these clips are on television.
You must be new here, and oblivious to the datamined collection of info this site possesses. People without knowledge are dumb. Obviously Imperius is not fighting Tyrael. He's just pushing him against the wall to give him a bro hug and a kiss.
No, you really are dumb. Those clips are on television. They do not depict information or events within the game. Everything everybody else has said is speculation at best; and the clips on televsion obviously depict Tyrael and Imperius are having some kind of fight. It also shows, in a more recent TV spot, Tyrael using the spear to smash something golden, presumably located int he high heavens, which unleashes a big, blue shock-wave.
They aren't spoilers because they're out of context. You're a fool to think information any rock could glean from the TV spot should qualify as a "spoiler".
Concept art and promo images/video clips are not considered spoilers. By your definition every movie and video game ever to exist has been spoiled by it's own promo launch site.
Sitting? Standing? Having a friggin' tea party? It's not a spoiler, because it's out of context; hence, nothing is spoiled. Pretty sure Blizz wouldn't spoil their own game.
Now as for data-mined info, keep that in tags, obviously.

think you could get a slow moption gif of the blue explosion? see if we can tell what it is?
Awesomely done. The picture with Tyrael and Imperious struggling is pretty hilarious though. =D
