Is anyone else getting -less- excited as D3 release comes closer?
I mean, I've been waiting 10+ years - attacking and savoring every bit of information that comes to us. I tried for MONTHS to snag a beta key, knowing that it was just a tiny taste of the game.
Even after finishing the beta with every character (thanks again diablofans for the key btw), I had so much love and excitement for the game. OMG, NEED A RELEASE DATE!!!
Then.. we get one, and it's not even that far away. Now that my CE is ordered, the day set and counting down..
I don't really care anymore?
How can that be? lol.
Especially when everyone else is still in a frenzy, mapping out entire days centered around a mid-night release and missing work.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited to finally play it and make progress. It's just I'm not nearly as excited as I've been the past few months.
It's not weird. There's a sense of security that we all have, now that we know the official release date. We can finally sit back and take that deep breath of fresh air.
Playing the beta has only increased my hunger for this game. However, there comes a point when I get bored of it because hitting a level cap of 13 and having no reward past that is not fulfilling. Level 60 I believe will be fulfilling because I will be trying my hardest to find those epic loots.
Playing Co-Op is also exponentially more fun than solo play. I found myself bored to tears playing the beta solo. But jumping in with AcidReign last night, we both had a blast making new characters and playing them through the Skeleton King.
I am very excited for this game and am VERY excited that it is less than two months away.
I envy you, I wish I wasn't excited, then maybe I could clean this rat infested place i call a house after work, instead of reading the same things over and over again.
I suck.
Well now that there's no question about release, and almost everything but the fine details in the story have been revealed, there's nothing left to get excited for =)
I'd also venture to say that 'maybe' you've hyped it up TOO much in your head (as we all have) and now you know that in less than two months your going to see if it lives up to everyone's expectations. It'l be the most badass game to come out in a decade for sure, but I think we've all gotten to the point that it's the second coming, and now the realization that it won't be is setting in =)
Your not getting less excited, your just getting calmer that it's finally getting out. Trust me when you actually go get the game in your hands you'll see that "hype" to play. Happens to me many a times.
We've all been waiting a long ass time. So long in fact that a lot of us have become numb at the idea of playing the full retail game. Don't get me wrong, May 15th will be one of the most amazing days of all time, but for now, I'm just riding the time.
To fill the time up, I peruse the forums (both these and official) about once or twice a day, reading up on what people have to say about the game, hopefully finding constructive threads or ones that peak my interest.
Personally, I would have preferred they announced the release date a month from release rather than 2 months to keep the hype going, and reducing the amount of time while we just wait for the game.

Excite is an antonym to calm.

"The Unchosen" Pain of Admirance Sigil (For those without -Feat of Strength-):
I am way too excited to play D3! I've been craving to go back to D2 for a while now but since D3 is so close I can't wait to play it!
I think if you look up too much information about a game before it comes out it spoils the fun. I'm still largely clueless about a lot of things in D3 other than what classes there are and the intro trailer. A few screenshots have kept me interested still. I'm hoping this game will be lots of fun for me to enjoy like I did D2!

I am still just as excited for Diablo 3 as I have ever been, however I am getting less excited over Guild Wars 2 with the new informaiton I am hearing. Guess thats a good thiing really.
I'm still excited, but I'm more calm. Like the frenzy disappeared when a date was given.
I still look forward to it, but I'm feeling a bit "What now?" until that day. It's like being told Jesus is real and all you can say is "Oh, well, okay then!".
I really enjoyed that last sentece.
On another note, I am finding myself wanting the MoP beta more then Diablo3 atm...ATM, give it a month and I'll be back there,
I'm not as excited as I was last year, or even earlier this year. I have never played the beta though, so unlike a lot of posters here, I have nothing to be bored with. I guess I'm bored because there is nothing right now? Like it was said earlier, I've accepted there's nothing I can do. Diablo 3 is 50 days away, so the chances of me getting into the beta are slim to none. Even worse, I resubbed for WoW in hopes of finding something to do between now and May 15th. I haven't watched playthroughs from the beta, for the main reason that I wanted everything to be new to me. I still read patch notes and other stuff on this site, but without any hands on experience. Still, I'm going to get the game on May 15th (after my final that day in Physics, hooray...), and I am gonna play the crap out of it.

This reminds me, Diablo 3 is going to be killer, I have the beta (not trying to brag) but I am still having fun playing every single play through, that could be why I'm not as excited, I feel I already have it and still play it everyday. (Finding bugs of course)
For me, everyday feels like it goes by slower than the last. As the time comes closer and closer to launch I will for sure start losing sleep because of the anticipation.
Me and the crew have definately noticed the hype die down. It has taken long as shit. I will play the game with a very open mind so that run through normal just has to hook me enough to say I gotta rape at this game.

Maybe that was a bad way to explain it then
