This is a Demon Hunter AoE build focusing on hatred. The extra hatred ability and the pet that increases hatred regeneration is key to this build. There are also strong aoe abilities in the build so if you overwhelmed you will be able to easily wipe them. When you are confronted you can use evasive fire to flip back 30 yes with the additional runestone upgrade.
Spectral blade used as main dps skill in here and for some healing.
Explosive blast used on every cd as ap dump spell.
Frost nova for both off and def skills and making some combos.
Diamond skin used for taking less dmg and healping u deal some aditionaly.
Energy armor with Galvanizing ward to boost your def stats since u will spend most of time in mele
Teleport as ability to close distance or escape if needed and deal dmg to the enemies
Evocation and Critical mass used to lower cds of 4 spells that got cds for batter performance.
As for your gear u should focus on crit the most some good 2h wep and loads of life.
Strenght of this build is that it kills bunched up creeps realy fast and eficiant with not a lot of room from them to hit you at all.
Weakness vs single targets and constant waves of inc enemy.
Now this is the spec that 1st got on my mind so its i think right to post that one. I think it will be viable till hell probably and it will be fun to play i am sure.
Spectral Blade - Thrown Blade: This is the main damage dealer, using thrown blades for the increased area of effect for sustained constant damage
Teleport - Safe Passage:
Main skill for closing the distance as well as a great damage mitigation in order to survive melee attacks
Action Bar Skills:
Slow Time - Time Warp:
Great all around skill, slows down the movement speed and attack speed as well as protecting us from projectiles while increasing our damage of our spectral blades
Familiar - Sparkflint:
Passive damage dealing skill as well as boosting our spectral blade damage
Magic Weapon - Force Weapon:
Passive damage boost for our spectral blades
Energy Armor - Prismatic Armor:
Great armor/resistance boosting skill. Since we don't really need arcane power the -20 max arcane is negligible. This skill will allow us to boost our survivability in melee range in conjunction with high level armors and a high armored shield.
Passive Skills:
Galvanizing Ward - Great healing per second which helps our survivability and also if we are in deep trouble allows us to teleport away and regain hp
Blur - Melee Survivability
Evocation - Reduces our cooldown for slow time and teleport
For me, it's always been about keeping it simple. Success comes when I have only a few things to worry about or perform well with my character. So for me and my striking female demon hunter who will be named simply "D", it's about SLOW and KILL and PASSIVE HATRED GENERATION.
Main hatred regen has two sources: Entangling Shot and my Bat companion. Entangling also serves the purpose of slowing packs of enemies, as I runed it with Heavy Burden to add to the length of my snare. Then I can then burn them down with:
Multishot - Runed with Fire at Will so that my hatred cost is lessened.
Impale - Runed with Chemical Burn so that any large target / boss hit by it will be nice and softened up.
and Rapid Fire - Runed with Withering Fire so that the hatred cost is reduced and I can keep blasting without worry.
Marked for Death will yield a healthy damage bonus that will spread because of the lovely rune of Contagion.
Passive Skills: Vengeance for the extra Hatred, as this build will have some nasty hatred dumping happening when I want to impale a few targets and then rapid fire the group.
Cull the Weak will be my bread and butter as it will add yet another group damaged bonus to all of the slowed enemies. The stacking of damage on groups is completed with this.
And Archery will finish me off with that lovely 10% more to crit with Hand Crossbows that I plan to always use on my hunter.
So with this build we have: Hatred gen without effort or much thought, crowd slowing goodness, with damage bonuses stacked upon one another for deadly effectiveness. We also have highly damaging abilities that can be used in succession for massive damage or in other words, a Hatred dump that gives results.
I hope you like this build (and I hope I like it too come release). It was fun getting to share it with you.
This may seem quite odd to most, but I plan on playing with a 4 player team at launch. I figure the Barb, Wizard, and DH will focus entirely on killing, leaving me to focus on party survival. All the defensive spells may not be quite necessary in inferno difficulty, will just have to feel it out as we go.
Senenity would be the first on the chopping block i reckon, unless it helps the party to avoid a large spike of predictable damage at some point. Might change the Mantra to conviction if the healing one isnt effective enough.
Here is how I'd currently build my PvE mage-tank to play with in a group. I would plan on leveling very differently, but ending up in a build like this. The focus is on damage reduction and point blank AOE. Round 'em up and take 'em down!
I like the whole idea of Mass AoE and lots of minions to help fight as well.
Single target fights may be a little more difficult for this build but I believe it is possible.
This is how i plan on playing my Barb. All aoe, all the time. I plan to never stop moving until im dead. cleave cleave whirlwind earthquake. like a bawss.
Heavy Aoe Heavy Damage build. Takes some maximum ap reliance but the main point is to teleport in, slow time, port back out with reversal and then drop blizzard and meteor on them for hideous damage. Clean up with electrocute which regens your ap.
Primary
-Rapture on Cleave for some nice extra explosions on the mobs you kill with cleave.
Secondary
-Volcanic Eruption on Whirlwind to cause even more havoc.
Defensive
-Wrenching Smash on Ground stomp to bring in more enemies to my cleave and whirlwind range.
Tactics
-Call of Arreat for Leap Attack to double the range on landing and also pull more enemies to my axe.
Might
-Crushing Advance for Overpower will reflect back 30% of hopefully a large group of mobs
Rage
-The Mountain's Call to reduce the cool down for Earthquake
Passives:
-Brawler to increase my damage by 30% when there are more then 3 mobs near by, as there should be!
-Boon of Bul-Kathos to reduce the cool down for earthquake to a lovely 75 seconds (MOAR QUAKE!)
-Ruthless to get 5% more crit and cause my crits to hit 50% harder (this will add to the chance to have overpower not enter cool down with crits)
Hard to say for sure how well this will work out for clearing AOE mobs, but I can see it shredding through some groups!

This build will work for most modes.
I based this build around being lazy, this is the build you want to play if you want be have your minions do all the work.
You just click a few buttons, then choas ensues.
All of the spells feed into each other, hence Regenerating.
All of the runes work together, lowering mana cost, CD and other things.
