. They have the items at the store... if you go there...and they dont... they know it...then... they know before they open..

Gonna ignore the fact that I've pointed out twice that most food places order their proteins and vegetables, to point out that, YES, YOU FINALLY GOT IT, If You go to a store and they DON'T HAVE THE ITEMS, THEY KNOW IT BEFORE THEY OPEN. This book was set to release on the 13th. It should have been IN THE STORE BY THE 10TH. You think all the frozen patties burger king cooks for you are delivered on the very day you chow down on it? No. They're from last week's delivery. Even someplace with has high of a check average as the restaurant I work at gets most of their steaks a week in advance.... So we know we have enough. I made that example because I assumed it would be a pretty easy example to understand. Unfortunately, you seem to be taking it too literally, and assuming "That would never happen at a burger king!", to which I can only reply by saying "So, you're saying that Burger King has higher quality logistics and inventory workers than Amazon and IE?"
Also, you state that we don't know what the issue that came up was ...correct.. We don't... great communication on their parts there.
and if you read everything they have said today, this was an issue that came up out of nowhere for them, we don't know the details, if we want to start putting on our tin-foil hats and say they are lieing... thats you call.
That's my point of my last reply - they clearly have a process for printing, distributing, selling their products. From the layman here, I can't believe that its something that "just came out of no where for them."
I use that excuse in my business when I forget to ACTUALLY do what they paid me to do.
There has to be checks and balances, timetables for production, shipping deadlines and receipt. All of that, had to have happened in the past few days - not this morning when someone walked into Barnes and Noble, turned on the lights and went to put the Book on Cain on the shelves and there..was..no..box.

Which is why amazon pushed back the date to jan 10th like a week ago o.0;
I dont know if you even know the point of why I started posting in this part... but it was due to people post HERE and complaining that it was either A: Amazons fault, or B: Blizzards fault, and start complaining about all this....
End result is, stuff happens, if you seriously feel the need to complain for w/e reason, do so to the CORRECT people in the CORRECT place...that was my point o.0;
PS: no duh BK buys gets stuff shipped from other areas... Did you really think I thought they use magic to conjure their food? Point being you dont preorder your food weeks in advanced... thus it has no ties.
They post here because it's a diablo fansite. People posted here before Diablo 3 was even released, to complain about diablo 2. People want to vent, and people want to know why they don't have what they paid for. They're AWARE they don't have the item. It's easy enough to know that when it's not sitting on your table in front of you. They want to know who screwed up and made it happen. Hence why they're angry, because they're not being told why it was screwed up, and I think most of them expect to be given at least more than a half-hearted "oops, we messed up" e-mail or twitter, and to actually know WHY things got screwed up.. and what I.E. intends to do to MAKE UP for it, because they breached the pre-order contract, not the people who pre-purchased it, therefore the vast majority -are- going to feel that they should get something to -make up- for I.E.'s mistake... and where else are they going to vent/complain? Diablofans, because it's not even all too common knowledge for most people that I.E. is the reason it's not in their hands. It's human nature to vent when something frustrates us, because it lets us put it into logic and express what we're thinking and feeling. If you vent to Amazon, you're told "Sorry, I don't know what's going on. Nothing we can do." Your next natural step will be a diablo fansite to see what is going on. Half the people that are posting here to vent are doing it because A: They hope the right people will see it, and B: Because they want to vent with like-minded people. A more constructive way to handle it, if you really wanted to divert their complaints, would be to give them IE's Twitter and Facebook, and let them rage on them.
There. Isn't that a lot easier than just telling a bunch of diablo fans that they can't rage, complain, or vent about the failure to launch the book of cain, right after blizzard recently told us that they were pushing back the december release of diablo 3, on a diablo fan forum?
Edit: Also, just because you don't pre-order food months in advance, you still pre-order it at BK. It's just a smaller timeframe, but nevermind that, the point was that it was failure to deliver a product. You could very easily substitute it with any number of other things, for instance, you place a reservation at a resturant, then get there on time to find out that, without any notice, they gave your table to someone else who walked in, or that you bought an ipod off amazon, then on the day of delivery, they tell you that they ran out, but if you walk to the store in california, you can buy one. Like I said. Literalism is a poor argument.

But your missing one key part here.
You bet people are going to come and post on diablofans, and yeah, there are going to be positive posts of people being thrilled with the game, and yeah, there are going to be negative posts, with being not liking something about the game. Loven a game as much as half the people here do, they are going to be very passionate about either view when they post. And there is hands down nothing wrong with a positive or a negative post as long as its constructive and logical.
Thats the only reason I came to diablofans over half the other fan sites out there. More users here are logical and down right passionate about this game. Even if its negative, the are posting because of their love of the diablo games, and want whats best for it.
And theres nothing wrong with people not agreeing with that, half the arguments here are good ones, theres nothing wrong with a good debate.
This issue tho... is when a post already has information in it. Information stating that the issue is with IE. Then becomes where the "negative" complaining in the wrong direction is not helpful, and all it does it hurt.
as I said at least three times. Yes everyone here is hurt/mad/sad/upset they dont have the book in their hands. We all want this damn book more than anything right now (at least I do). But the issue we were commenting on from the start, was the complaining at amazon and blizzard about this issue, when the information is already in the thread...and people are still going after blizzard here, and doing more and more negative posts about it. Thats no longer passionate posting about something they want made right, as its directed at a fully wrong source of the issue (which was already made clear in the thread)
Well Blizzard can say whatever they want to. But if the shippers do not have the product how can they sell it. And who fault is that. I just got a email stating that my Pre order or Book of Cain will not be shipped until Jan 12. I have had enough of this and I promptly cancelled it. Because who knows whats going happen around Jan 12 oh let me guess another FING DELAY. I'm done done done.

o.0 blizzard has not said anything...because it was not their "screw up". The publisher is the one that has to/and is answering for this.
Well it is Blizzard's lore and copyright and they choose who is to publish it. So bottom line it falls on their shoulders. I am just waiting for my money back and I will spend it on something else that is tangible, that i can actually have. And who can believe anything they state any more. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. Well i just had all i can take. They can sell it to someone else when it comes out.

Your purposely trying to blame blizzard if your going with that, All publishers have issue at one time or another, it happens. Its their fault, and they are the ones fixen it.
Also a tip, next time you can preorder an amazon without paying, they let you do that. ^_~
I think some people are going too far in accusations, while others defend the creators a bit too much.
Blizzard is not the publisher, but it can be argued that they should let their customers know what's going on.
Insight Editions hold most of the blame though. They agreed to a Dec 13th release, which they obviously screwed up. However, they did not let retailers know, so the customers could know - which is lame. They announced on the release date that it got pushed "a few days". Still we see shipping a delivery estimates saying end of December and as far off as months into 2012. They clearly haven't communicated this well enough and it's indeed very unprofessional.
One thing to note is, that if you preordered directly from said publisher at Blizzcon, you have gotten your copy. This means the product does exist and they are selling directly to THEIR customers, but they are delaying the arrival to their competitors. That, to me, is the worst part of this whole thing. They are practically saying "hey, if you pre-ordered from us, you would have it by now" - eventhough Amazon has no fault in it.
I'm an Angry Blizzard Fan and I approve this message.
So it's starting to look hopeful: Amazon changed their page for the BoC, it now says "Ordering for Christmas? To ensure delivery by December 24, choose FREE Super Saver Shipping at checkout." So it looks like we might actually see them shipping out today or tomorrow. See for yourself: http://www.amazon.com/Diablo-III-Book-Cain-Deckard/dp/1608870634/ref=/ref=cm_cd_f_pb_i
I hope I get it before xmas. I'll buy it from a swedish bookshop, not Amazon. But then again there is no confirmation from the store about having it in stock, and it says 13th Dec...

This. Exactly.
They deserve this blame and wrath - PURELY - because of this.
