Guys, guys....just relax...
I know the title of the thread says 'I'm pissed' and for the sake of remaining 100% on-topic, everybody is making it a point of being pissed at the person who's pissed...but this is not the way..
He probably had a bad day and while i'll have a go at a punchbag and u'll kick ur laptop, the guy just decided to make a thread...
It happens. And am sure everybody(mostly me) has felt like he did at one point...until we realized D3 is such a far-off shit zat its just so much more fun discussing news bits than actually actively waiting for the game... Its a fansite after all.... We just help each other bear the wait...and have some fun too while being at it...
*just received my nomination for nobel peace prize* Amen.
for me, it helps a lot not having a good enough pc for running D3... so i have to wait till i get the money for the new gear and after that i'll sit and despair because of D3...
so, my advice is: sell your pc, buy a cheaper one, and enjoy your life...

Jay Wilson: Throughout the history of patches on Diablo II, there were a lot of updates to runewords and they really powerful from when they were introduced. At one time or another though all of the different item types were the most powerful, like unique items were the best, or rare items at some point. Our general approach for Diablo III is to make sure that every type of item has a place to be useful. [B]For example, maybe we'll have a legendary item, which is the new name for our unique items[/B'], be the best helm, whereas rares will have the most powerful chest armor, and so on. Having a spread like that will allow for a more varied itemization system we hope.
Legendary is the new name for Unique, as per Jay Wilson, Lead Designer of Diablo III.
Blizzard has had the same method of developing games ever since the first warcraft games, iteration after iteration, and so far it has brought games that are practically unrivaled in their genre, that is quite an impressive feat.
Other gaming companies tend to just release sequels to successive games that are the same game with more story and a bit improved graphics, slap a price tag of 60 euros, and then buy a Ferrari after watching it sell like heroin.
Blizzard has their own way of working which involves announcing titles pretty early so the fans know about it earlier than most games. Also they have this pretty unique way of working where nothing is set in stone before the game ships, and they do play testing quite a lot. This does result in long developing times and non-existant deadlines.
Blizzard is known of this fact, it would be nuts to expect otherwise. Don't like it? Can't wait? Don't buy the game, don't read about it, go buy an XBOX and Halo 3 or some NHL game. It's simple, really.
It's their game, they can release it during the first manned mission to Mars if they like, they don't have any kind of an obligation to rush it if they don't want to. And you can put the money where your mouth is and not buy the game if you don't like their way of doing things.
touche..
I don't think thats right that they can get everybody all hyped up about it once a year and then be like "suprise, there's still no released date, hope you don't mind till next year when we say the exact same thing".. what happened to deadlines anyway, do they not have to use them anymore? I'm thinking i'm gonna be in school and shit by the time they release it so i wont have time to play video games

Certainly not. What options would you like?
uhh.. how 'bout just "agree" and "disagree" and "in the middle"
Thanks a ton.:D
The only thing im pissed about is that there's no good online rpgs to play in the meantime before Diablo 3 is released lol. Seriously tho, the orpg market has sucked for a while...

Try AION, its engine may look like WoW, but more realistic, and its about Angel and Demons...
Its an MMORPG, not like diablo, but its not a bad choice...
From a QQ topic we ended with a nice pool lol, we can check what ppl are thinking about Development ! nice Seth

IMO aion is nothing special. Another mmorpg that gets boring after the 1st couple of weeks of gameplay. I honestly don't believe it deserves the hype it has received.
I have to agree with many of the comments in this thread. Blizzard is renowned for the outstanding quality of video games. I'm confident that by the time I get my copy at it's midnight release that whatever skill system Diablo 3 adopts will work well.
I will however ask you what was so great about the tree-based skill acquisition method from DIablo 2?
Well it made us spend a few points into pre-requisite skills... The pre-requisite points we're inconsequential to a modest level character. The limiting factor to acquiring skills was primarily limited to level. This however had little to do with how powerful a skill was. Corpse Explosion was attainable at level 6 yet is undeniably an extremely powerful skill. Static Field is another example of a powerful skill attainable at level 6 which also happens to have no skill prerequisites.
IMO the tree structure for skills had a minimal impact on the game. The consequence of removing the tree base skill acquisition from Diablo 2? Characters would have a few more skill points to invest into meaningful skills that would be used and contribute to a given build. The synergy system was by far a much more important skill mechanic.
While it's difficult to judge whether the decision to remove skill trees was the right without the knowledge of its successor, I will be happy to see a meaningful replacement.
I definitely think its time for a change from the tree. It's so overdone at this point. I don't mind having something a little fresh.

Amen. I mean, I liked the concept of the "tree", but it's been copied so many times, it's not even funny.
I'm really interested in knowing how it'll play out... :diablo:
I hate the way you cling to ignorance and pass it off as innocence
Arrrkk never... We don't wait all that lenght of time to a "recoloured"... Don't buy d3, Play d2 mod, you'll be happy
