Instead of having they drop by chance, I'd rather have montlhy events or quests where you have to actually accomplish something (start a new game and achieve lvl X in less than Y hours!)...
leave the super-duper-mega-unique 200-on-the-entire-server items to chance and there goes balance out of the window...
I'd really like to see at least 30% of the uniques in the game drop on my 1st play through, because it's not the fact that you have that unique, its the "Unique Combination of its Very Good and Useful Stats" that should be tactically-chosen...
Magic and Rare items have random magic stats, sometimes they are really good, AND it's probably a one-of-a-kind in the entire server, since the chance of anyone having the same mods is 1/10000000000 -> uniques shouldn't be like Rares, just harder to "find"..
the "finding" mechanic really bugs me as well, it's a pain in the ass to play a 5-6 hour diablo session and not finding a goodamn unique/useful item (even with big magic-find and multiple boss runs!!!) -> and trust it, it has happened to me ??
