I hope they can bring back the feeling of playing Diablo in Diablo III. I liked the feeling in Diablo, just hates the game. In Diablo it was so much darker and stuff...

Diablo I was the suspensful out of Diablo II and LOD. Having that back will definitly make me play for a lifetime

Hero of the Trojan War, son of Telamon, thus called the Telamonian Ajax, also called Ajax the Greater. In the Iliad he is represented as a gigantic man, slow of thought and speech, but quick in battle and always showing courage. He led the troops of Salamis against Troy and was one of the foremost Greek warriors, fighting both Hector and Odysseus to draws.
Nice avatar Ajax. I would have to agree with the suspensfullness of the Diablo I. The ability to destroy the environment how ever, I think that would take away the simularities from the Diablo games. Diablo III would be considered awhole new game genre because of it.

Those before me shall quiver in my wake as I unleash the fury within!
Well Diablo is an "Action/RPG", destructible environment would make it more action... more anarchy, and an even lower FPS rate for me!!! yay!
Creepy has a time and a place, when your inside a cold dark tomb searching for treasure and slimey zombies are attacking you
But when your attacking legions of hellspawned demons you want it too be epic. Just my opinion, not the whole of Sanctuary is supposed to be non-stop "creep" like Diablo 1... all the people in Sanctuary would be shitting themselves non-stop
You should define what you mean by "destructible environments". While you may imagine people cutting down trees and make them fall on monsters, I don't imagine that happening. In heXen it took ages to cut down a tree (but it was possible). And that's how it should be. You don't cut trees with fireballs and katars. With an axe you can but if it is a big tree it would still take time, and if it is a small tree it won't kill any monsters.
I would be interested in seeing flame effects, such as continual burning of monsters and the player. Then, enflaming grass would be kinda neat, but I guess it would also be expensive and hard to manage in places with a lot of grass (Act 3, ahem...). Trees could be burnable, at least for a nifty 2D effect, not necessarily anything that actually does anything.
Then we have walls. In Nox, there were some areas were walls were breakable, it was some poorly constructed walls and weak wire and etc. in various places, usually they hid secret areas. I never minded them. In general, 90% of the walls are indestructible, that's an axiom for a Hack&Slash game if you ask me.
Speaking of falling walls... Same situation as with the trees. You won't break a wall... you may have pieces of foundation falling, but that seems an overload for a game like Diablo which will not use its 3D capability much.
Then, there are just random objects to destroy. We already destroy barrels and the like, there could be some extra additions. Possibly, there may be a way to make traps, similar to Oblivion, and allow the player to use them against monsters. I never understood why Diablo II traps only worked on the player, never on the monsters...
Also, I think the character should be fully allowed to step into lava, to be pushed into lava, and push somebody into lava. Same goes for edges of cliffs. In Nox, in fact, if you stepped into lava, your armor began to decompose really quickly (but you died sooner). In fact, if you just threw a piece of armor in the lava same thing happened lololool...
And I also like the idea of swamps that drain you in, like you step into them and if you don't get out quickly enough, you'll drown. Especially with all that armor. Of course, you don't want to piss the player off so you wouldn't have many of those... Just make a swamp pool around some nice-looking chest with some critter nearby pissing you off, making you lose your attention. I'm not sure if that works very well for a game with no saving, tho...
maybe there is somthing where you're in game runing away from diablo or w/e is chasing you and it crashes through walls to get to you? would be a whole new meaning to interactive MMO-RPG's

Diablo could crash though a wall and grab me anyday
After reading some stuff on the blizzard site i came across the job openings.
Top secret, yes yes, we all know it says "the team behind diablo 1 and 2" or something. But then i noticed they're looking for a "Physics/Collision Programmer – Next-Gen MMO"
then an idea popped into my mind. A hack n slash game where you can destroy evrything?
Wouldn't it be cool to make your barb bash his axe into a wall and make it shattre into pieces?
in other words
You can destroy evrything...
What else would a physics/collision programmer programe?
Anyone else got some nifty ideas for diablo3?
I wanted this as a kid (when I was playing Diablo II at seven I think).
Now I don't.

What does that have to do with anything? Diablo is a Hack&Slash.
more destruction.
but yeah, not evrything should be destructable. that'll ruin the game.
n it would be really cool if diablo came crashing down through a wall to get you ^^
Not even a WALL can safe you from me!
