Hello Aphrodite...I haven't seen you here for quite some time. And i agree with some extent to your input there. Having the character closer to the screen so you can see more details of the character, might not let you see the surrounding environment as much.

I think that if your going to have a good character ,you should be able to choose how the character looks like in Guild wars or in WOW... you can choose the hair color and how the facial features might look. That would be interesting... body shape I think... color of skin, really make it personal.. what do you think? It would be nice to see the role play characters larger, instead of so tiny that you cannot differentiate their facial expressions, or really see them fight....
I think that the characters need more definition, such as how they appear.. 3 D and such.... D2 LOD is fun, yes it is, but sometimes it is hard to view the characters...
Also I'd like to see the D3 character being able to have a type of tomb or bag in the stash..for such things as potions.. the red and blue to be exact as they have the Town Portals and the Identify stuff...
that is what I am interested in...
be well..
Aphrodite
good to see you again Lady Aphrodite, your absence has been a very long one.
yes, you bring up good points. the "potion bag" idea is good, and the char thing is good too, but its been said many a time, but its good to say it again.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I believe that it would be interesting to be able to have a Male Assassin - or lets say a Sorcerer - for a man, so Men can be as they are - if they wish the magical powers of the Sorceress, let them choose the gender of a Sorcerer... less sorceress.
Of course, there can be no male Amazons... they were always Women. There have always been Warriors... of all genders, both male and female variety. It would be interesting to find a Female Paladin - as was Fara in Lut Golein...Why cannot there be? You just tell the software - as in the WoW version you wish female.. and it creates one for you and like I said yesterday, give us the ability to change the way the character looks and dresses. Change the hair color, facial features.. etc..
The Druid is of course a male, so give us Fairies...they can be male or female..There is of course the Djadin.. i think it is called..a type of female druid ... class... like the fairie, with mystical powers the ability to use potions and spells.
The barbarian can only be a male ...
Assassin's are not just women, in the old days of the Russians, there were Assassini... Female assassins.. well... the Chinese also had Male assassins... so let there be Male Assassins too. With all the abilities of the Female, in the male version. Change of facial features, etc.. as I stated above..
All characters need the ability to change what they look like: hair color, eye color, skin color...etc...gender... change of clothing color... what not.
that is all i can think of at this time, there might be more later.

Worshiped throughout Greece, she was the goddess of love, marriage, and family life; she was also worshiped as a war goddess, as a Sparta, and as a sea goddess and patroness of sailors.
AND NO I WILL NOT MAKE MY SIGNATURE SMALLER, GO F.O.
yes, certain classes are most definitely gender restricted. but any class that can should have both male and female versions.
and as always char customisation is very good, though eye colour not so much, depending on how close the camera is to the char i dont think you will see their eyes close enough much, though body size, hair, skin tone, tattoos and if anyone has played Baldur's Gate or icewind dale you will know what i mean when i say body type, its kind of annoying how in diablo the only difference between the barb and necro is the size, while in BG a barb and a necro differ greatly in there body type, a Necro looks like he is wearing robes, while the barb looks like he does in Diablo.
Here are some shots to better explain my point, they are of a Barb, a Paladin and a Mage (yes i know the Mage is female, and that the Barb isnt Human, and they arent wearing the same stuff which would have really helped, but game mechanics such as racial and class restrictions for BG, says mages cant wear the armors the other two are wearing)
as you can see the mage who is actually wearing armor, looks vastly different from the other two classes (and not just because she is female either), whereas if this was diablo the only difference would be the mage has a smaller body size. the Barb is much bigger than the paladin which you would expect, but his body shape and type is different too.
it would be nice if D3 had something similar to this. i have aluded to this in the master list.

this thread's about what we WANT...i doubt blizzard will act on the want of one clan...and if they did, a lot of this stuff would improve the game sginificantly..

just thinkin' of things that make Baldur's Gate (the game those pics are from) so great.

Amazon
Only women, THeir whole society is based around women fighting ad men working, so no men there.
Assassin
So far as the lore goes, there are no gender restrictions here.
Necromancer
Should also work both genders
Barbarian
Why can't women be barbarians? Can anyone give me one lore-restriction to this?
Paladin
True, works for both genders
Sorceress
Can only be women. The Sorc we see in Diablo is of one clan that masters in the elemental magics, as opposed to other mages who have a wider range of knowledge. A pure elemental magician will be a woman, unless a new clan is formed (which is not impossible).
Druid
Same as with the Barbarian, why only men? True, we have so far to see any actual females fighting, but unlike in the case with the Amazons, there is no cltural restriction here. The women may be few, but there has to be some.

has anyone thought of the idea of choosing sides?? like you could join the evil side and fight the angels @@, maybe in diablo 3 world the good/evil force are pretty equal but if you join either one you could just end the long time war, joining the evil side you might have different armor sets, spell animation different more demon based sumons etc.... just thought i would be a nice campaign to go against the good for once and you could fight in heaven

Yes, we have already discussed that numberous times. Please be sure to read the entire thread's posts to catch up to speed on discussions that have already been discussed.

yep Amazon female only. the rest are pretty open to both.
my only problem is with the Sorc, in d1 there was a sorcerer (male) and i nd2 you had the sorceress (female), this class should be available to both genders in d3

True, but the sorceress is of the Zann Esu clan, and they only accept women. Now a sorcerer is entirely possible, but it will not be with the same set of skills as the sorceress we saw in D2.

I think it would be kind of strange to see women as Barbarians.... I think
Barbarian: Male
Necromancer: Both
Sorceress: Hmm I'd have to say female
Amazon: Both
Paladin: Hard one I would have to think more... at the moment I guess I would say Male
Assassin: I kinda like the idea of Female ^.^
Druid: Male

"Cards and flowers on your window, your friends all plead for you to stay,
sometimes beginnings aren't so simple, sometimes goodbye's the only way."
And what do you base this on? There is no real discussion about the Amazon, they only have female warriors. So unless you want to run around as a male amazon caftsman, I wouldn't suggest it.
Of course, there could be a great shift in cultural beliefs, but since that isn't feasible from what we know right now, and the fact that the Amazons are a minor part of the world, I don't think that will happen.

Well, that was just a list of what I thought, not including any cultural stuff. But I guess Amazons maybe can stay female... but they have to add hunter (male) or something then
