There's something broken about Arcane torrent's proc coefficient but its incredibly high. You commonly get 3-4 hf fire balls in 2 seconds or so of channeling, its insane. If you couple this with magic weapon - deflection, it gives you a 72k shields thats basically always up if you keep channeling. If I can get my hands on a wizard spike, it would be insane how many orbs this would proc.

Electrocute forked lightning, but it doesnt matter, just something to proc Arcano Dynamo. Note that you no longer have to hit something to get a stack from AD, you simply have to fire a primary spell.
Arcane Torrent - Disruption for 15% more damage for all arcane skills. Main skill of the build.
Magic Weapon - Deflection. It gives you a damage absorbing shield everytime you cast anything. Coupled with the proc rate of AT, it takes you like 2-3 seconds to build a full 72k shield.
Sparkflint- Canoneer. 240% weapon damage in a 6 yard radius. Sparkflint fire pretty fast now.
Hydra - Arcane Hydra. Takes advantage of the 15% buff from disruption and gives you more damage while you channel away.
Ice/Energy/Storm armor, your choice.
Passives, I used Arcano Dynamo of course, Dominance for even more shield, the third I went with temporal flux for the 80% slow.
Im currently running 16 apoc, with 10% cost reduction and I never run out of arcane power.
I think I saw a video about other channeling spell which also procced several fire / ice balls with the channeling.
Yeah, found the video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zz1hBnGzh1g
See, he's using disintegrate, not AT. Is that a similar effect you got in RoS ?
Edit: Another one, this with AT:

It really seems that Arcane Torrent procs way much more of the ice balls than disintegrate.
I won't lay claim to inventing this build (or any others), but I've been using something similar on my Wizard for quite a while. :-D
I really like Arcane Torrent, and Disruption, to me, is almost a given as to how useful it is. Of course, if I'm laying down Arcane fire all over the place, Temporal Flux is a big plus (buffing it to 80% was nice). And Arcane Hydra makes great use of a skill not a lot of people take advantage of, as most typically see Hydras as a waste...but it really helps add some great damage stacking to the mix, plus the Arcane Hydra's blasts send out some good AoE.
I tend to try and add on some additional Arcane spells, though...for instance, Disintegration is great because of how quickly it fires out. So even though the Disruption debuff only lasts about 6 seconds, you can switch to firing out a Disintegrate beam almost instantly. Slowing mobs down enough with Temporal Flux also makes for good Star Pact opportunities, :-D
With some of the changes coming to the Wizard, suddenly the Serpent Sparker (for a chance for 1 additional Hydra to proc on kill) and new Tal Rasha set bonuses (for a free meteor of the corresponding elemental type) really seems pretty compelling to search for.
The hydra seems great but I find it tedious to cast the hydra. I'd rather just get my AD stacks and then hold Arcane torrents.
I can agree a bit on the tedium, then again, the Hydra lasts 15 seconds, which is a pretty good amount of time.
One thing I like about Arcane Dynamo, though, is that if you get your five stacks from it, and cast Hydra, I'm pretty sure the Hydra attacks will have additional damage, ;-) So using a primary spell like Electrocute is great to proc Dynamo, as there's no wait time between your character and enemies, it almost instantly starts gathering strength.
What is proc'ing all of those orbs? Is it an item that you have to equip or is there something else I'm missing here?
Please keep in mind, ladies and gentlemen of the forum, I'm just a wizard noob. I fell into the rut of the WW Barb and later found out about the elements. Your world frightens and confuses me! Sometimes the whirling orbs of your spells make me want to get out of my perma-Archon and run off into the hills, or wherever. Sometimes when I get a massacre on this killing machine, I wonder: "How in the hell did I do that?" I don't know! My primitive mind can't grasp these concepts. But there is one thing I do know - I don't always play a wizard, but when I don't, I sure as hell won't play my DH.
I noticed that I could get 4 stacks, cast hydra (without losing the stacks because it only spends when on 5) and then use the 75% dmg buff for channeling torrents
Also a great strategy. Tends to take more self-control than I've got when it comes to firing off Arcane Dynamo buffed spells, ;-)
The thing you guys aren't noticing is on the ptr the proc rate of Arcane Torrent is just ridiculous and if you couple it with the new rune for magic weapon - deflection, you get a near instant 72k shield.
I did a lot of running on Expert (70) today which is a lot harder than master (60). I switched some skills around for more defense and it worked out pretty welll.
Dropped Hydra for Bubble with the rune that stuns enemies for 3 seconds. In conjunction with Temporal flux its very nice in keeping elites off you. Dropped AD for Blur, and ran prismatic armor. Also dropped the primary skill for Teleport as an escape skill.
I found that Arcano Dynamo didnt do as much as I thought it did. Tested on master 60 ghom. With just Arcane Torrent, took me 15 seconds to kill him. With arcane Torrent buffed with Dynamo, it took me 12 seconds. So that's edps difference of 25% boost from Dynamo.

Its very effective, try it out.
