When I used to play D2, I was a avid amazon user. Javazons Bowzons, with the latter being my favorite. Im interested to see whether or not a future Impale Hunter might be compared to a Javazon in the future. Imagine throwing the Grandfather Sword like a boomerang, instead of some ethereal javalin.
I think the classes line up similairly... uses attacks similar to the zone, similar to straff and crown control / managment kinda more similar to a assasins traps. Should be a very interesting class.
I think Amazon (spearazon) was a tad more able to go melee while DH is more focused on ranged/tactical gameplay.
But have to say DH has very interesting "mobility&damage" skills.
DH is my 2nd preferred char right now, WD still stays top but it's a close battle.
The Demon Hunter wears a scarf, that's the main draw to it I would think.
It lulls you in to thinking, hey this class is a bit debonair and devil may care going into a fight with something already wrapped around it's neck.
It also leaves you with the sense hey this thing could be lame in the beginning like the ragnarok online archer due of course to the scarf similarity of the two, then develop into something slightly less scarfed yet still typically unplayable in PVP.
Owing to this scarf though comes the possibility that the male Demon Hunter much like the male archer might have similar weaknesses, to which if someone was to turn off their safe search when looking for an image of the 'ragnarok online archer' they would find their weakness.
There are a very few types of men that wear scarfs, the cold-necked, vintage era pilots being one that comes to mind, the other that comes to mind are the fellas that enjoy a good show toon. Total bros those guys.
The similarity of it to the Amazon perhaps might be a desire to wear such sparkling outfits.
In case it isn't glaringly obvious the standard will go here.
I always played a bowzon in d2 and from what I've seen so far the DH it plays like an assassin for traps support and a bowzon for ranged damage. The run and gun style is very exciting and those of us that learn to kite will lead the way to inferno.
Even still - I think they've incorperated enough variation in the skillset for each to thoroughly provide a new experience. I mean, if the Barbarian (who has changed relatively little when compared to the other classes) can continue to bring me back, then the new lifeblood imbued into each of these "new" D3 classes will certainly make for good time wasters!

He wears a red scarf so he can wipe the demon blood from his face, without showing the blood.
There was once a captain of a navy fleet. One day on his ship, the lookout yelled to him, "Captain! Two enemy ships on the horizon!" The captain said, "Bring me my red shirt!" A deckhand brought him his red shirt and asked what it was for. The captain said, "It's so if I get shot, my men won't see the blood, and will continue to fight hard." Then the lookout cried again, "Captain! There are now 6 enemy ships on the horizon!" The captain replied, "Bring me my brown pants!"

Amazon was my favorite D2 character back then, but it was lacking since Amazons are a society of women...
The longing I had was finally fulfilled with the announcement of the Demon Hunter, and now playing the game would be more exciting and have more meaning as I extinguish all of Hell's denizens through the fiery abyss of Inferno with my male Demon Hunter build.
I'm quite happy that Blizzard was finally able to update the Skill Calculator.
