I have recently joined the testosterone filled journey of the barbarian. Insane, say you.. Maybe... But courageous none the less.
That being said, I have almost no experience in this game. I have SOME gear and can do normal Torment okay but going much higher and I'm useless.
My question is where do I go? Say you're a fresh Barb with no gear but paragon 65. I don't really understand the elemental side of things, and overall just confused about the whole process. I have googled endlessly and I don't see anything that is considered the best build.
My goal is high end Torment, and I'd like to run with my friends while doing more than 5mil dps.
not sure if u said it but what server do ya play on. i dont play the barb but you are more than welcome to run with me if you'd like - ysoserious#1178. i'll be on in about 3 hours from now (11am est). your welcome to any gear that drops from me that i dont need (which will prolly be a lot)

NA servers - add me if ya want - ysoserious#1178. - i run a clan if anyone wants an invite. no requirements to join - as long as your nice and friendly your more than welcome
Hey, I've a few hundred hours played as a barb since RoS launch and I must say it takes quite some time gearing a barb - well properly at least. There is almost an ideal item for every slot, so you just need to rift and keep rifting until you get what you need from drops or Kadala.
Gear list includes:
Might of the Earth Set (gloves, helm, shoulders and pants) -need 3 with ring or all 4
Lut Socks - lets you leap 3x times before the cooldown starts
Cindercoat - more fire dmg + reduced rage cost on fire abilities
Bracers - Strongarms(knockback/pull) or Ancient Parthan Defenders(stun)
Belt - Harringtons, Chilanik's Chain(group run speed), Pride of Cassius(longer Ignore Pain duration), Witching Hour, other IAS belt
Weapons - Devastator, Sun Keeper, Burning Axe of Sankis
Any necklace with Fire/Str/ChD,ChC
Rings - Ring of Royal Grandeur, Unity, Stone of Jordan
Magefists or Hexing Pants of Mr. Yan(if playing Berserker Rage build) might also be viable if you are using a Ring of Royal Grandeur
I can also suggest you join "Barb Rifts" community. You may have some issues getting spots in middle/high torment groups until you start to gear up a bit. But when you start playing with others from that community, you will be able to lootshare with other barbarians which might get you a few pieces of loot you haven't gotten as a drop or from Kadala. Lootshare communities are great, I have given away and gained numerous items from them.
I don't want to deter you from playing a barb, but have you maybe considered a crusader? Far easier considering they only have 1 set and just 2 items (Jekangbord + Gyrfalcon's Foote) will pretty much allow you to clear up to t3-4 easily.
I would love some feedback. So I got 2 piece might since we spoke but jeeeeez it's hard to get. Lots of play time. I also found one piece of the IK set and it seems a bit tougher to get ahold of.
Any suggestions on what build I should go as of now, enchant options and potentially where id be vaiable torment wise?
My friend there is no need to type all of that lol.
Here's what I would do to help you become at least T1 or T2 efficient so you can farm some legendaries and enjoy the process.
Get rid of your 2piece earth quake and put them in the stash. This set is crap until you have Lut Socks and all 4 piece bonus.
For me at your current stage its better to craft, since you can keep crafting for your best stats and find legendaries in the process! 2 birds with 1 stone.
Now here comes the question, what's your play style?
If you enjoy using cool down skills I would craft Born and Cpt.Crimson sets, but the materials for them are pain in the butt to grind.
I would recommend craft shoulder, chest, and bracer for Aughild, and pants, boots with cain. That will get you T1 efficient and T2 farmable. You will get a lot of upgrades soon so don't spent too much time and resources achieving max stats.
You mentioned you have 2 piece Immortal King, the 2 piece bonus is pretty nice as its adds to your toughness. I would use IK instead of EQ at this stage and fill your remaining gears slots with aughild and cain.
Couple of ways to efficiently farm legendaries:
1) join normal split bounty farms and you can check out the list of bounty only legendaries and see which ones you like
2) once you farm enough rift keys, you can join the rift it forward community and do rift it forward, that will net you tons of blood shards and you can send them on kadala.
3) join barbarian loot share run. But you need to get at lease T1 efficient so that will give you more incentives to craft your set items.

Awesome. Thanks for this. What abilities should I use until then woudl you say?
It really depends on your play style, what do you enjoy the most using?
then you look at your gears and try to maximize your gear potential and put you to the torment level where you can farm comfortably.
Do you have any weapons that scales with elemental dmg like odyn son, fulminator, sankis, mad monarch...etc? if you have couple of lightning piece I highly recommend going for lightning build for t1 to t3 and go fire build for t4+. lightning barb works really well at lower torment level as you can use whirlwind - windsheer as your fury generator, aoe, and mobility. the dmg is efficient enough for mobs at lower torment level but not at higher torment level. pair that with HotA lightning rune is really fun.
