Ancients keep Wrath up 100% without any issue. Tested it out in PTR last night with a few different setups.
1.) 5Pc IK + RoRG + Tasker
2.) 5Pc IK + RoRG + Dual Wield
3.) 6Pc IK + Focus / Restraint Rings
The first two situations worked and I maintained 100% Wrath up-time with ZERO CDR, provided there were things to attack constantly. The third setup was less powerful than I had hoped. Ancients were too slow and I lost Wrath about 3/4 through the CD, even with nice density.
Dual Wield is the better option IMO, since you can get a Sunkeeper in your offhand and Elemental weapon of choice in MH. Ancients were doing around 50-75 mil per hit on the RG while Dual Wielding WITHOUT the Sun Keeper (Shard of Hate + Azurewrath Cold setup).
New Wrath Pants give you 50% Reduced damage, an extra 300% blood explosion and some Life per Fury to heal when needed and fit in perfectly with the setup. Shoulders + Bracers were Aughild's. Stone of Jordan for second Ring (or Unity if you still have survival issues). Really a solid build, every gear choice is easy to build up. Just need a sexy Amulet to complete the package (Hellfire for bonus passive if you are luckier than I in rolling a good one.)
I didn't find any after 2 hours of Rift farming with the mega drop buff (+2000%), but I saw two pieces linked in Barb chat. Not sure if it's seasonal only.
The problem is that with IK you need to constantly engage something. This can result in situations where you are out of enemies and run out of WoTB. Also keep in mind that IK set is potentially weaker the new WW set (i say potentially because new set is not available on PTR yet). The 400% damage buff from Rend and another 400% from ring will make WW a beast (the bonus will be multiplicative I think because it is 'deals 400% more damage' not 'increase the damage by').
Those are just assumptions.
Constantly attacking something shouldn't be a problem in GR imo. Unless you get a crap rift and then it's just a crap rift, even the best build in the game wouldn't save you from that. But in general, the density in GR should be good enough to keep wotb up most of the time.
The Skull grasp ring's damage addition to WW afaik works in a way that let's say the WW rune you are using says that it deals 400% weapon damage, then that ring will add another 400% to that, so your ww will be dealing 800% weapon dmg. the bonus from the set should be multiplicative on top of everything though.
Yeah so even with that, its 800%*4, that gives 3200% weapon damage with some nice speed. Add the lamentation belt and you can get 10800% in 5 seconds (2160% per second). That is 5360% dmg per second (considering you have 1.0 aspd) and no lighting damage buffs. I think this is better than Ancients...
Most likely, yes. I think IK builds will work better in solo because it provides you with more survivability in general. The WW set might be a good dps class for group GR's i think.
I get the feeling that the IK set will be a great addition is 2s 3s and 4s for rifting and the ww set would be better for soloing. The only issue I see with the ww set is will you be able to maintain good solo dps "keep in mind I havn't looked much into this".
The little i tryied with the wotb pants its actually no problem at all having the uptime since the density in rifts so better now, too bad the damn ptr server lags like hell i had like 10fps in a greater rift i dunno wtf is up with that so i didnt really enjoyed playing that nonsense...
You dont really need obsidian to be perma WotB, as long as there are enemies, you will be in WotB form. I say this because i played ptr yesterday, and i could notice this.

ja i believe so but like i said the ptr lagged like crazy i got so low fps it was hard to keep the ww up but if it was the live game im sure i would be able to keep it up like more or less any ww barb should have too!
I have 400k dps on sheet, with TnT, and they're doing between 1m and 8m hits, depending on the attack. I can promise you, with just TnT, you can have perma wotb.

People should understand that TnT isn't required to have perma WotB atm, it's just a pet-oriented way to play ik. That's it.
You guys have probably seen this by now (other thread in this forum), but I tried a conceptual pure pet build using TnT + 6 piece IK + WOTB pants. My APS is around 1.5 (just AS on RoRG and using IK BB weapon), with 50% TnT. I manage to keep 2-3 minutes uptime on Wrath no matter how many targets.
OK so with the new sets is perma WOTB still possible? I guess you need lots of CDR and need to generate and burn through a hella lot of fury. Frenzy + Whirlwind dual wield maybe?
It should be if u whirl nonstop then it should keep up that otherwise we are doomed.
From watching Andrews 51 gr with the new IK set (NEW new IK set) yes, atleast with dual wield you are able to keep around 100% wotb uptime! Looks extremely fun, can't wait
I've been playing with Bul Kathos weapons, it's perma whirlwind + perma WOTB with ease, no need for any CDR and no downtime. You don't need a Fury builder because you passively gain it at a very rapid rate (with BK 2set) and stay capped at 100% whenever you attack anything, even using WW to move around between mobs for the movement speed increase. I haven't had much time to play with it and not had any other decent 1 handers, but it was hopeless with a 2hander... I'm guessing the new BK set bonus makes a fair difference.
Can't say it's the most damage as there are definitely better weapons out there for that, but in terms of uptime and speed of clearing a T6 rift this is the best option with IK.. Still think Raekors is faster for that but greater rifts may be a different matter. So many items have been buffed, it feels like they just bring out a new buff and make everything another step more ridiculous.
At this point they could do with re-adding monster level 1-10 because T6 is now so easy that you can't maintain gameplay as stuff just dies too fast, it's all insta-melt on contact.

So the new obsidian ring is gonna along with the redesigned IK set give u perm wotb more or less? sounds amazing to me..
"Do you guys not have phones?"
Are the Ancients' attack speed tied to your attack speed? Also, tasker and theo would prob work great as well.

Here's the build I used while testing with DW: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#WSjPkR!XZjb!aZZZcc
The new Nerves of steel is a free life mechanic now. Procced it once in a GR 38, so it'll be more useful in the 40s.

Does TnT give you a nice dmg boost as well? What kind of dps are the Ancients doing by themselves? I wonder if it's worth using the pet gem too.
