ActivisionBlizzard Press Release
ActivisionBlizzard issued a press release recently announcing that they've bought 429 million shares from parent company Vivendi for $5.8 billion. This way ActivisionBlizzard has become an independant company. Vivendi is left with 12% of all shares. The majority of shares are owned by the public.
Another part of the press release shows that World of Warcraft's subscribers have decreased to 7.7 million the last quarter, a drop of 600 000. More information will be given at the next earnings call on August 2nd.

Curse Weekly Roundup
In this week's roundup Jess talks about a new company formed by ex-Blizzard executives, Curse moving into console gaming, PS3 headsets supported for PS4, tons of DLC for Borderlands 2, EA lawsuit concerning the Madden games and a list of the launch titles for PS4!
Vivendi never had any involvement in the development of Blizzard's titles. This changes nothing.
Not directly, perhaps. But you never know if the higher ups at Vivendi calls for faster development, more sales, etc. which prompts Blizzard higher ups to call for sped up development, etc. which prompts the game directors and producers to call for more...
You get the idea. Chain reaction. Who knows, we don't work there.
