A strong and stoic, self-sacrificing soul, this taciturn man was the one and only who could end Diablo's reign of terror in Tristram. And yet, of this Warrior and Hero we know little, aside from a few key attributes.
I've not been able to play through Diablo I, but is there any information regarding this character released? Any hints at former allegiances, origins, biography, abilities, thoughts and feelings? Of the Rogue and Sorceror (Blood Raven and the Summoner, respectively) we already know slightly more.
In short -- does anyone know anything about him I don't? =\

Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
All in the Forger's wake is left bereft and fallow
Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?
The road's goal is the dark Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
As far as I know, we weren't given any story about the 3 "main characters" in Diablo 1. They were simply some of those many adventurers that headed into the cathedral.
Yes, the warrior is the canon hero (easily seen in the cinematics of D2), as both the Rogue and the Sorceror are "bosses" in Diablo 2.

It has been said... that in the end of all things... we would find a new beginning. But as the shadow once again crawls across our world... and the stench of terror drifts on a bitter wind... the people pray for strength and guidance. They should pray for the mercy of a swift death... for I've seen what the darkness hides!
... I don't think it's safe here.
Hoping for Pink Chain Lightning in D3!

The thing is, both the Rogue and the Sorcerer have their origin. As in each of them belong to a group.
Nothing was reveal about the Warrior. Is he another paladin ( I doubt this). Or maybe he's one of the knight (like Lachadanan, but of a different nation)?
So far in the Diablo lore, there were nothing about an organization of Warrior or anything like it.

OT : Damn dude, did you write that just off the top of your head? That's some impressive wordsmithing.
On-topic: From what I remember, the only real story given in D1 was the lead-up to the events. I think they left the character vague on purpose so that the player could fill in their avatar's history for themselves. There might have been a line about adventures being drawn to Tristram by the promise of wealth or to combat great evil, but that was probably all (I can't say for certain, the game is buried somewhere in the attic)
The manual of D1 says the warrior is either one of the soliders that went to war against westmarch and "returned home to fidn their kingdom in shattered disarray" or just random dudes coming to seek fourtune.
But i think the one we actaully play is from tristam, and worked under the king because the npc seems to react as if he was from tristam and just came back at the beginning of the game.
I think he is originaly from tristam or at least stayed there for awhile, becuase i just played diablo 1 for like 10minutes, and one of the npcs first line to the warrior was something like "much has changed since you were last here" or something like that.
I agree, Unlord. I get the sense that he was probably a highly skilled warrior from Leoric's armies who helped bring together and lead the various other foreign heroes in taking the Cathedral. Of course, he was the most skilled and the only one capable of defeating Diablo.
