Loved the movie but there was a little too much gore for my liking. Also a lot of unanswered questions such as where did the aliens come from and why are they here? The bit in the commericials where they interview the alien wasn't even in the theatrical version. Or maybe it was and I don't remember?
Am I the only person here who enjoys not having everything in a movie explained to them? I'm starting to think I might be the only person in the world who really loves open-ended plotlines (such as with Cloverfield, for example). Everyone else always seems to complain about them.
For me it just makes me start thinking up all different kinds of ways to fill them in. I consider that a stroke of genius in any form of art: if it gets you thinking and creating all on your own.
Well I gues I didnt stay long enough to really enjoy it. I was watching it and there goin around the alien city and idk I guess it could be just me. I was expecting more of a alien revenge n leave type thing with action all around. idk why I didnt like it just wasent somethin I was expecting I guess to me it didnt seem to have much of a point for like 20 mins...nvm I cant spoil it just because I didnt get it.

If you want to arrange it
This world you can change it
If we could somehow make this
Christmas thing last
By helping a neighbor
Or even a stranger
And to know who needs help
You need only just ask
What do you expect from a film of alien?
Thing as "independence day crap"?
or "The Day the Earth Stood Still mega crap"?
District 9 covers another side of this issue, try to live with "them."
the movie is very good! the best of the genre.
it makes no difference if you see films like District 9 on DVD or in the theatres.
the visuals and sound isn't that big of a deal like in Hollywood blockbusters like The Dark Knight or some stupid Michael Bay Boom boom film.
and if you have a kickass home entertainment setup, watching it on DVD might actually be better than watching it at the theatres

I guess this makes 2 of us.
I hope you have seen the movie Equilibrium.
District 9 was a pretty good movie but nothing really spectacular or original. I think if there was a movie about aliens who came to help us defeat monsters from within the Earth would make a good plot. (Just thought of it)

Dream as if you'll live forever, and live as if you'll die today. "James Dean"
i want to see an alien movie where the aliens actually conquer earth and not have some stupid plot armor to save humanity from enslavement.
no War of the Worlds BS where aliens far superior in technology and intellect would go eat stuff on an alien planet or go out of their machines without a containment suit.
thereby getting a virus and dying from it.
even stupid humans know that you shouldn't eat strange stuff (on our own planet) or go onto alien planets without a containment suit.
they have probably conquers numerous worlds or gone to numerous worlds and they don't know the 101 of alien planet conquest?
even more stupid is the computer virus crap in ID4, like the alien computers would understand our programming language or that they don't have firewalls to prevent crap like that or that we are smart enough to hack into an alien system with a totally different computer language
If an alien race is coming for a hostile takeover, we are getting taken over.
not to mention the fact that so-called scientists have actually sent out our genetic data into space for aliens to find a couple of decades ago.
they most likely could have a genetic bomb ready to wipe us out by the time they get here
you poor thing.
Talk about having a gay relationship with an alien. Too cheesy.
Let's not judge people now. If he likes chick flicks and taking pics with fake boobs on him, that's HIS choice!
Lol, that was funny.
Anyway, I might get that movie on DVD..I don't think it's worth it to go to the movies.
Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions
