the 8600gt is gonna disappoint you if you run anything more graphic intensive than half-life 2. But it might come in handy after you get a good card, and you want to run tri-monitors. everything else looks good, but you probably wanted 3GB of ram running at 800Mhz for a 32bit os.
you also didnt future proof your system very well with a 680i mobo and a 550watt PSU.
I wouldn't buy expensive power supplies now, just the minimum. In the future the power supply that you need will be much more cheaper, in terms of money. But I agree with the mobo. Also, I find 1GB RAM is enough for XP and 2GB is enough for Vista. Crysis runs the same on Vista with 2 and 4GB RAM, and you get get much more intensive then Crysis for now.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

*cough*
bullshit

There are such things as minimum and average fps, friend.
And to be honest you could have mentioned a game other than crysis to support your claims. But who knows what the future has in store for us and what memory-intensive applications lay waiting...
@Assign: You could have waited for a 4650 ddr2 512mb vram. As cheap as the 8600GT yet faster (most likely, but by how big of a margin we'll have to see)

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
