Ok, I want to upload a .gif file for my avatar and I have it on my computer as a .gif. Whenever I add it though it becomes a still picture (my avatar now). What am I doing wrong?
Ok, I have searched everywhere for some help but I can't find anything. Could someone help me please.

I believe if you had an animated avator before they disabled them, it would allow you to keep it. Disabling it doesn't disable them from working, it just disables them from being uploaded properly.
Sometimes when I save an animated gif to my desktop, it remains animated. Other times it appears as it did the moment I saved it. Never exactly sure why. I think it may even help to make sure when you save it to your computer, assuming you got it off the Internet, it's best to right click first and then go to view image, so you can make sure the URL is just right. Then you may get something like this.
Hmm, what I'm noticing is that it doesn't save as a gif and that is most likely your problem. You have it as some kind of photoshop file. Can you save it as a gif in the program you were viewing it in?
Damn. I can host it in imageshack for a different URL and it still appears animated, but not here. Could be a forum issue. Maybe ask Jetrall for help. He seems learned in picture matters.
I'll save you the trouble of asking me. (Although thanks Siaynoq :D).
Tonight when I get home (if nobody has solved it already) I will fix it for you so that it should work. Unfortunately I'll be home rather late today, as I have to go to a meeting, but when I do get there I will fix this up for you.
ok, thanks, i just sent you a message so you could disregard it if you want to. You're a great help. Thanks again
No problem. I've got a little extra time on my hands now, so I'll see if I can figure it out. If not, I'll just post here again when I get home. I won't double post if I do figure it out soon, so I'll PM you when I edit this message to say I've solved it.
EDIT: Prettty sure I've figured it out, but I can't actually do anything about it until I get home.
OKAY! Problem solved. Your issue was with the size of the image (180x180). Because the size limit for avatars is 150x150, the forum was using it's auto-resizer on the image. Unforutnately, this also eliminated the animation. What I've done is resize the image ahead of time for you so that it will work when uploaded as an avatar.

I did save it to my pictures and it is saved a gif. However whenever I copy it into my custom avatar, it doesn't work.

I have tested it, and it works. Enjoy.

Why the hell would you want that as your avatar?
