Andamentium...Was what his shield was made out of....same thing wolverines bones / claws are made out of. 99.99% indestructable. Its a Light But very strong substances which gives just enough to allow a little flex thus allowing it to richochet off most solid surfaces
Um, no. I was almost positive I had heard that before and... ta-da! Elfen's wikipedia link said it was a common mistake that the shield is adamantium. His link is even titled vibranium-steel alloy shield.
I was surprised to hear how he died, actually. Some sniper took him out? After countless years on the battlefield and he was never killed, but some sniper takes him out?
I'm shure that Marvel wouldn't make it so un-glorious, and having not read it, I dunno how they did it. But man, I thought it'd have been something more... grandoise.
Captain America is a staple of the Marvel lineup, and he will be missed!
I'm not good at comics, but I always thought that stupid deaths are the real deaths of heroes... I mean, that is how it really happens. You are not always in full glory and don't always die in a great battle...
yea, there are rumors that it was a clone though, or a publicity stunt. i doubt it was either, because its captain America. i never was into comics, but i do understand greatness when i see it.
And by the way it is wolverines claws and reinforced skeleton that are made from adamantium, not Capt. America's sheild
and Cyber's skin dont forget that. i think Cyber is the only being to break Wolverines claws. though i have no idea how he did it.
Captain America's shield is often mistakenly assumed to be adamantium as it is one of the strongest metals in the marvel world.
But Captain America's Shield is made of a vibranium-steel alloy. vibranium-steel alloy shield. This alloy was created by accident and never duplicated, although efforts to reverse engineer it resulted in the creation of adamantium.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Let me remind you that Wikipedia is composed by people, and therefore cannot be fully trusted. I saw tons of mistakes there. They don't even allow to cite Wikipedia in schools...
in the comics it says what his shield is made of, if wiki says the same as the comics ill believe it. i cant remember which comic it was i dont want to search thru hundreds of comics to find the answer just to make sure wiki is right.

By the way, Silver, I am not saying you are wrong, because I vaguely remember reading somewhere that when Captain America's shield was at the bottom of the ocean, he went through MANY replacement shields, one of which was made of adamantium. Technically we are all correct, as I do not recall us ever specifically mentioning which shield.
