from what i remember the D2 Assassin had stealth skills.
Well, sure, it had skills that would be categorized as stealth, but she never went invisible or snuck around. If anything, it made her faster and harder to damage.
Hmm my wizened opinion brings me to conclude that there will be no stealth - as in monsters cant see me no more hahaha, stealth- in Diablo 3.
1. Blizzard has removed alot of abilities with reasons like "We felt i broke the action too much", "didn't feel right in the diablo universe" which describes the stealth ability perfectly.
2. Stealth would be a horrible choice for PvP reasons IMO. If It were to be implemented it would require VERY carefull balancing, something that is obviously lacking in D2 which makes me grimace at the though for stealth in D3.
Anyway, I personally want to see a completely new idea come out with the ranged character that we are probably due.
What i want to see is EITHER:
Archer + Shadow Spells
OR
Archer + Summoning akin for the necromancer *no skeletons per say but summoning in the sense of it beinga viable main strategy unlike the witchdoctors as its been mentioned*
And yes 2 summoning classes work for example D2 Valkyre(sp?) + necro summons
I dont include the druid because i hate him \_ _/
'
didn't Blizzard say that the only class coming from D2 was the barb so that means that the next d2 class will be something totally different from what you are talking about something shocking I bet.
Good thread for the poster nicely done +rep
im 100% sure there will be a range class with a bow. if not then im dissapointed in blizzard.
diablo 1 i played as the warrior, and my good family friend played as the rouge.
diablo 2 i went necromancer, and my friend who i played d1 with was amazon.
how am i suppose to keep this combo of melee and ranged. (my first necromancer was up to lvl 57 and was mostly skeletons, teath and bone spear. so he pretty much physical melee. and i was attacking too)
How about the hunter from WoW ANYONE?...really it has bow skills supportive skills and then pets?...the pets can be your summons like tigers bears wolves birds stuff liek tht real animals no demons. Or maybe you could enslave the demons or undead and have them as your pets. NOW THAT WOULD BE AWSOME, having a lunatic fallen on yourside.

How about a Bounty Hunter? Or Swashbuckler. But honestly I'm sure everyone's noticed the new characters have those small similarities to the D2 classes. The wizard is obvious, witch doctor goes with the necromancer.. maybe even some druidness, and the monk I find replaces the paladin, perhaps with some assassin-ness, no?
It's as if the new characters retain a similar nature from their respective predecessors, does that make sense? With this said I think the fifth class will be someone who will fill in the void of the Amazon, because none of the four classes have any similarity with her. So if I'm right and they follow that trend, I guess the question is who would have the nature of an Amazon? xD
Or maybe they'll make a brand new character, shit I dunno lol. *goes insane*
Would like to see a return of some type of archer/bow class name could be almost anything. If an archer/bow class doesn't return as a character I'd accept the barb being the recipient of wielding a bow.
Now if Grace Jones does the voice over for the female monk!?! Whoa.. hehe.
I just hope that they really use crossbows this time for the ranged class. They have had crossbows before but none were worth using. I just think they are so much cooler than a bow.
I say no to the necro. He won't ne coming back in release and I hope they leave him out of the expansion. Sorry necro fans. I just want all new classes. I stilldont get anyone who wants the old classes back. New game = new classes.

Posted this replie in another thread, but thought it would be more suitable here.
I didn't read the entire thread, so I apoligize if I repeat some earlier posts.
I personally think AND hope that the 5th character is indeed a "ranged/bow" character. But also, as many said with melee skills. But not with a spear or some kind of two-handed weapon, but more like dual-wielding small blades kind of stuff. Not like the barbarian with his big *ss weapons, but more small and fast.
Secondly, I also hope that the character will have some kind of "nature" spells. Nothing flashy or too much elemental, just, you know, nature! Vines, roots, plants, trees, that kind of stuff. Maybe even disease or poison? I know that many people are gonna say: "NO, WD already has disease!" But in D2, there were a lot of characters with the same-like element as spell (just think of the amazon and sorceress or the druid and the sorceress). Just an idea.
Now, back to these "nature-spells." These will serve to keep his enemies away from him/her. For example like the zombie-wall from the Witch-Doctor, but with vines and plants and stuff. Or like the bone-prison from the Necromancer from D2. But again, with vines and meanwhile strangle the enemy?! And if those things fail, switch to the dual-wield?
And maybe, just maybe, summoning 1 pet? But only one, like the amazon in D2. Something like the bear from the Druid? Not an entire pack of wolves or anything like that.
These are my thougths and opinions, don't know what you guys think of it?
Grtz!
you mean kind of like a prince of persia style fighter with druid powers... sounds awesome!!!

[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]I find your lack of faithdisturbing.
How about this ranged class characters bow be bladed for close incounters therefore you can peirce them with arrows or slice and dice when they get to close thats what i say and its one weapon kinda like the jave but faster and cooler
How's about a combination of stealth and range? I mean, sure there should be a group of skill dedicate to bow/arrow, but you can alway have the 'warp to monster, stab, stab, warp away' skills.
I'm thinking it will be a ranger, sort of a combination of the amazon and druid (bow skills + animal companions and whatnot)
Definitely something with a bow would be the logical option right now.
Can't imagine this game without a bow class.
Though blizzard might think otherwise...
I really hope its not a ranged character with pets. I prefer changing your attacking abilities to using the most powerful one over and over. So slowing attacks, cursing attacks, and combo attacks are my fave.
Actually the pallys been taken just for being "holy" the monk is now your "holy" class and second theres no ranged class and bows are confirmed as w've seen them drop already so there is no argument there. So yeah its pretty much confirmed its ranged

In a gameplay video bows have been seen to be dropped on the ground. It is the end all be all confirmation fo the ranged class. I dont knwo which one but i can certainly llook it up for you if youll wait a moment
Okay, so I'm not taking credit for this Idea, but I'm building upon it. Somewhere on here I saw someone suggested the Valkyrie. Well, IMO, I think that could be the perfect class to bring in as the 5th class (sorry if this was already stated here, but I'm too lazy go go through all 21 pages). So here's why:
1) The Valkyrie could satisfy the need that some people feel for a "holy warror". Yes, Valkyrie's aren't the standard and archetypal Holy Warrior that we all know and love, but they fight for a Greater Good, and serve the souls of the warrior who died in battle in the mythological location, Valhalla.
2) The Valkyrie could be a versatile warrior, fighting both with ranged and melee weapons. Since Valkyrie's protect and aid the souls of fallen warriors, they have access to some of the best training possible, and could be knowledgeable in pretty much any fighting/weapon technique. This could easily solve the "we need a ranged fighter" problem, as well as sticking to the belief that all the characters will be balanced enough to fight with both ranged and melee weapons.
3) There are some people who really want to bring back the Amazon and/or the Rogue. This could take that spot as it is very close, yet oh so different.
Despite these reasons, there is the big problem with this theory, which would be the dual-sex of the class. Valkyries are typically female. I don't know of any male Valkyries, so Blizzard could possibly make up their own Valkyrie/Valhalla lore, or they could just use a different name but use the idea.
