Iam now, as you can clearly see from the Amn and Azshara threads, not so much the Hyrule thread as yet, in the process of working in several side quests into our story/s.
Generally speaking, they will be somewhat copied/modified versions of quests found in the games of which the world in which the story is based. I.e Diablo, DIablo II, Warcraft I, II, III, World of Warcraft Ocarina of Time, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate II. But most likely, Baldur's Gate II, which works out rather nicely, as it is new to most of you.
If you know of a quest say from World of Warcraft or even Diablo, that you would like us, or some of us to undertake, send me the details in either a PM, IM or email, and we will see if we can work it in. Of course if it is a Diablo quest I shant be needing the details, I will only need to confur with you as to how best to work it in.
And please, if you can, try not to suggest side quests that are overly "Fed-EX (go here, get this, bring in there) or Slugfest (Kill x amount of monsters), There can be a small amount of these types of things, but they shouldn't be the over all theme or point of the quest.
While it is not a requirement, If possible I would recommend, submitting any and all dialogue that goes with the quest, that includes initiation dialogues, finishing dialogues, and in the case of Diablo or any of the DnD games, what your character says during the quest. For example The barbarian's comment "Oh I've just about had my fill of the walking dead" upon killing Radament. Often these make things a little more entertaining, esp. if it is like the warrior's comment after he has killed Zhar the Mad "I sorry did I break your concertration" or what he says after he has killed Gharbad the weak "I'm not impressed".

If you choice a Diablo II quest, you do not have to include all the dialog that the other NPCs say, just the one who gives you the quest, well you can include it if you want to, I suppose

Like I said before, any of you can use any of the characters of mine I put in the Characters thread, Sir Elric, Sir Karl, Wulfgar, etc. That is so long as you do not do anything out of character for that person, such as not posting in a german accent while using Sir Karl or Heinrich for example.
Within these threads there are essentually two types of NPCs;
-Type 1 NPC (Non Player Chracter)
The first type of NPC is the Non Player Character, that is, not you. (you character is a PC, Player Character). These are my regular characters, the ones I use the most. They, much like the NPCs found in Baldur's Gate, can be "controlled" by you. You can have them do stuff, but they also have a mind and a personality of their own (i.e me having them do stuff). They will do pretty much whatever your character is doing at that point in time if they are near you, Fighting, drinking, sleeping, eating etc. You can talk to these characters and supply their replies if you like, so long as it isn't out of character. ANd by now you should have a fairly good idea of what their personalitles are like. Though I will try expand on some of the less frequently used/newer characters.
-Type 2 NPC (Non playable Character)
The second type of NPC, are more like you quest assigning, store keep, randomly walking around town, barely says two words to you type NPCs, such as Deckard Cain or Gillian for example. That is to say they will converse with your characters, and may fight along side you, like the mercenaries in Diablo II. but you cannot yourself, tell them to go attack that big demon over there. (That's my job). You can converse with these NPCs, and I'll try reply in a timely fashion, I do work rather long/odd hours, plus often someone will reply before I do.

Any character i make an entry for in the Characters thread, you are free to use, If the character is not in that thread, such as Garren Windspear or Helfdain, you cannot use them without my permission.
A small portion of game mechanics applies here, you can't make an NPC do something in the game, so you can't do it here. such as you can't tell deckard cain to cast some bad ass Horadrim spells and start killing demons, even though he should really be able to.

Just thought I would say it again, much like sides quests, feel free to let me know if you would like to wield an item from any of the games at some point during this "game". You don't fight Diablo with the same sells for 1 gp crapsicle weapon you start the game with, so why not here as well?
Just don't uber it up too much like the Sword of A Thousand Truths or something.

For example, Sword of the Flame instead of saying adds 24 fire damage, you could say it burns with such intense heat it quarterises flesh as it tears through it.

I'll look through the Dungeon Master's Guide and see if I can't find something to magicify. Oh, and by the way, what happened in Amn? I made a B.S. post just to have me still in the story, but while I was gone for the weekend it seems you lot fought a werewolf and a bunch of orcs. It also seems Venex got a dagger and orcs are tracking us...

We are not being tracked by orcs anymore as far as I know.
And what about the dagger? Or is that to be revealed later?
