For the record, this domain was purchased without the intent of selling it. I simply was a HUGE fan of the Diablo series at the time and was positive that they would be coming out with a third installment of the game. With that in mind, I decided that I would create a site for the fans and by the fans that would allow them to discuss all things Diablo 3.
I would be more than happy to partner with Blizzard should they wish to contact me about the domain (it's not like we're not gonna be promoting the hell out of whatever Diablo 3 stuff they eventually release), but I have no desire to sell it. I'm not in this for a quick buck. I'm in this to have a great fan site that we can all enjoy and discuss the game(s) we love on.
And knowing is half the battle...

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

I never noticed this thread so I will comment on it.
If blizzard wants the domain, they can have. Legally we have no right to the domain name since its based of a Trade mark of blizzard. We would make no money if the domain was requested by Blizzard because they have the rights to the domain.
However, I use to run diablo2.com and during that time blizzard never contacted us. I believe if we run a legit fan site blizzard will probably leave us alone.
Plus, the official links to all the Blizzard games are through Blizzard.com anyway. I can't imagine why they would want this domain name since all roads lead to Blizzard.

I imagine this includes abiding by their rules, meaning we have to outlaw all discussion about private realms, hacks and torrents etc, correct?

I don't think Blizzard would do that. You guys (admins) paid money for this site for years, and they come and snatch it away? Blizzard is better than that.

Grim, that's very judgemental of you. If money is what buys a person happiness, more power to them. Cause you still have what makes you happy and that should be good enough for you.
We are a happy family and if this site is selled then our freedom and even we are selled.
And yes money doesn't bring happiness especially if we have to give away our freedom.

Okay if money brings happiness then ou should know it also causes sorrow.

Money only brings you chicks and a trail of people wanting your money.
If that is what you want then it is guaranteed to make you happy. But personally if I had heaps of money I wouldn't flaunt it, I'd just quit my job and live comfortable for the rest of my life running a small business of my own.

I would say the same, but if the price was right, then I would find another domain for a site like this.
