And I think it turned out decently. You can't see all the details/shading because I took a picture with my phone, and didn't scan it (yet). Any input would be appreciated.
Damn dude, that's really nice,
Especially for lined paper.
I used to do all mine on lined paper, as well. If you want to start making really good sketches, I can't stress enough how much a proper sketchbook will help. Not only the organization, but the paper quality (depends on what kind of sketchbook you get, brand don't factor in shit, just feel the paper, the thicker, the better, or at least that's what I've found) really helps your sketches along.
Anywho, the shading on the scales really stood out to me. I like how you've shaded like... all of them, or at least most. Only thing I'd suggest is a bit more shading on the face of the serpent, and possibly on the shield.
Finished product? Lol. I think that this pretty much is the final product, since I don't know what more to add. I'm not gonna add in a face, because I think it adds to the general concept of the drawing if the angel didn't have a face.
Zhar, there is a good amount of shading on the serpent's face, you just can't make it out in this picture. I still need to work on the angel's abdomen/chest area, and on his face, though.
As for overall composition, I don't think there's much more you can add.
However, that doesn't mean you can't refine what you already have.
Seriously, a bit more shading would go a hell of a long way to bring it all together, though, as I've said, it already looks solid.

I shaded pretty much everything in the drawing. The only thing that I could add shading to is the upper body/lower body of the angel, and the shield. You can only add so much without making it all look like a clump of graphite, you know what I mean?
Look at you being all artistic! I like the design at the end of the neck and beginning of the head of the dragon/eagle thing.

Those proportions are pretty good. It looks like you were looking at something given the unique pose. Would be hard to create from the mind. The left kneecap is in a position where it would be broken with possible ripped tendons. Other than that it's great man. I'm assuming you don't proclaim artistic talent. That being said, your line quality is very nice. Your style seems like it would be great for graphic design.

You are right to assume that, I was indeed looking at a reference picture. That still meant that this drawing went through different stages to turn out this way. The line work turned out the way it did because I separate the page into pieces, and I draw each one separately, ensuring a more sleek finish. The serpent looks so perfect is because I started out with straight lines, drew the scales on top, then erased the lines. Simple technique, but it works wonders. That's not the knee, that's your thigh muscle, which with workout, would become the way I drew it. Seriously.
Several friends of mine have actually told me to major in graphic design. Art is my hobby, I enjoy it, so I don't want to turn it into my job.
I hate to break it to ya, but thats not where the thy muscle (quadriceps) is. You have it placed at the same level where the kneecap would be, which is a bit too low. Thats why it looks like the kneecap.

Good job on completely missing the fucking joke, dude..seriously, I expected you to lol all over this one, just like I lol'd all over your mom's face last night. Ok, enough with the mom jokes. I'll explain the joke to you, since you didn't get it an'all. Angels aren't humans. Alright, now..they have wings and shit, y'know? Yeah, alright, so, you aren't complaining about this (let's say for the sake of simplification) creature having fucking wings, but you're complaining about a misplaced kneecap. OK, so..since this is an Angel, and it isn't weird for this Angel to have wings, is it? No. OK, so..why can't he have a misplaced knee? It's fictional..I can put a fucking ear on his ass for all I care!

kinda comfusing... a head on the guy and a head on the end?
Looks pretty good I think the lack of a face adds to the inhuman subtleties of a supernatural entity. It would be cool to see it colorized, though. If you could scan it up and paint it on your computer or on the paper.

Near the outstretched leg, there's a blank section where some serpent should be.
True, I suppose. Though, I'm used to shading the fuck out of my drawings, will have to find my still life and post it up...
