I stumbled accidentally onto this article today at cracked.com. It has some way fascinating insights into how a particular sci-fi film never got made, or if it was made, how it became bastardized.
No, I did play the copy you gave me. It's about mineral farming, right? Also, I'm looking at your proposed budget on this ... did you accidentally put an extra zero on the end there? Jim, are you on the drugs again?"
Haha, I loved this part. I guess farming minerals isn't enough!
I totally agree with the Hitchhikers guide one. I am a big fan of the series and was disappointed with the movie. One that had the same humour as the book would probably become one of my favourte movies.
*shruggs*
I dunno. I don't believe in movies that are not movies originally. When I see a movie and then find out it was after a book it's not a movie for me anymore.
i definitely dont agree with his choosing of the star wars movies... the original 3 are the best no questions asked. especially empire strikes back. he mentions 2 or the newer ones and jedi.... what the hell is he thinking!!!!

Well I liked the point he made about once George Lucas became old, he became tamed and lost his angst. And you can see the difference in the new movies. Whereas the older ones have more of an adult feel and the newer ones are more geared toward a younger and more mainstream audience.
What happened with the Alien movies was pretty interesting too I thought.

perhaps its a valid point.... but the fact that he would even put any of the new star wars movies on a 10 ten best ever made list and exclude Empire Strikes back.... well he just lost all credability in my book

Star Wars was always meant to be for all types of audiences. They say it's supposed to contain some kid humor to expand the audience. Episode III they say will be the darkest episode in the series. It's what makes Star Wars such popular movies. Some humor over here and some drama over there..
If anyone's seen Predator and Predator 2.. and compare to Alien vs. Predator.. The two Predators contained a lot more blood and gore. AvP had literally none. I think movies based on older movies will always be that way.

Hitchhikers involved nothing that was Hitchhikers. Sure, the plot was kinda, almost similar. Sure, the humour was there. Waut, did I say the humour? That implies it was the wonderful, original, laugh out loud, thinking man's humour from Hitchhikers, So Long, hell, the whole trilogy, all 5 books.
But no, the movie, while funny in parts, when compared to the original genius looks like a 'ur momma' joke.

This is like the second time someone has said the "10 best ever made". It's 10 best never made.
So when he's talking about the Star Wars movies, he's saying that had they just made sequels right after doing Return of the Jedi, those could've potentially been some of the best sci-fi movies ever made. But since there never were any Episodes 7,8, and 9, that makes them on his list of being three of the best sci-fi movies never made. I don't know why some of you keep missing that?
oh lol... ya know i didnt read the article i kinda just looked at the names of the movies... oh well

DAEG FAERCH comes down after killing a mouse and eats some RAISIN BRAN, the cereal of PURE EVIL.
From the abriged script of the Halloween remake. I thought it was golden hilarity.
I've been sick of Hollywood for years now. In fact I don't think I've seen anything I've enjoyed from Hollywood since the Last Samurai, and even that seemed pretentious for having a white dude being the last samurai.
I hope movie makers start getting the point that their movies suck. Last I heard they were blaming Halo 3's release for the lack of revenue they earned in October. Here's a link
That wasn't as good as the first one, but it's alright. Of course at least 7 of those I've never watched. But keep'em coming. I'm sure eventually I'll find something I can relate to. Beacuse StarWars is not my forte.

Yeah I loved that Rod stuck it to Rob Zombie. That guy is such a shitty directory.

Idiots.
Even if Halo 3's release really did cause the movie industry to lose money last month, it totally serves 'em right. Idiots indeed.

If you'd like to see Star Wars being bashed in a poignant sort of way, you'll definitely wanna read the abridged scripts of Star Wars at The Editing Room.
Some of you may even be pleased to see that the author talks about his own angst as to why Starcraft has not yet been made into a movie. Check it out. It's really interesting.
