Now, the books own the movie. By far. But I can't help to point out that, honestly, people who say the movie sucked are idiots. If the movie sucked COMPARED TO the books, that's okay because it's true, but I honestly still loved the movie. Good action and story (followed tiny bit of the story), though it fell far from the books. Even watching the movie after reading Eragon and Eldest, I still enjoy it, though the books are still better...
I can't wait till September (8th was it?) for the last book (which I cannot remember the name, Brisingr or something?).
I guess saying the movie was horrid is a bit harsh. The main reason I did not like the movie is because it felt like it was rushed. I felt no character depth and, i was extremely dissapointed how saphira grew up in a puff of smoke. On a side note, i felt the urgals could look alot more ferocious and scarier.

Yeah it did seem extremely rushed. Either that, or the makers didn't care...

I understand WHY they did it. budget/time/etc. But, they could've taken a better path with it. If they would have taken their time with the story and took it slow, even if they had to break up the movie into multiple parts, it would be infinitely better.

it was definitely rushed, more so than other books into movies. like when saphira(i dont remember how to spell that) grew to a full sized dragon within 10 seconds
How do you know their budgest and time? I guess they both gotta be pretty low though
Those are usually the determining factors for limitaions on a movie. As for budget I specualted, but every movie in general has to be edited for time. Mostly because after 3 hours of movie most people either dont have the attention span or they can't devote the time to watching it. Whatever the reason, stuff like that is to be expected.

Well, Brisingr came out Saturday - has anyone bought it, started reading it yet? If so how do you like it so far?

I bought the book when it came out. I finally finished it last night at about 3 am, and simply loved it. How he had written the book, was simply great, and I am looking forward to the next book. It pained me at the end of the book though. I say, I must have cried for a little bit.

I bought it, just have to finish the book I am currently reading before I start though.
Ooo, you cried! Hmmmm I'm curious now.

i know it came out a while ago, but did anyone else think that Brisingr was a total disappointment? i mean, i could have read 5 pages of the book and understand what happens. half of it was Roran and Katrina talking, and the ending was so anticlimatic. "how to make and kill a shade in 30seconds". really?

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

Yes Stormy. I did cry at the end. You will find out soon enough.

(Yes, I just googled "What's Eragon about?"- you could probably do the same for the other two books.)
Or if you wanted someone elses' interpretation...
