First of all Gentlemen great thread, it has been a very very interesting read.
I am new to the forum but have been playing D2 for the past 8 years or so.
I wanted to add to all the wild theories and point the following out:
I heard about this on a history channel program and well around the 14-15th centruy, it was common to hear that hell was infact a frozen place, cold and blue, Diablo himself was depicted as a blue demon not red.
"Common features of hells include burning heat or freezing cold, darkness (symbolizing the soul's separation from light, goodness, and truth), physical agony that represents spiritual suffering, and devils or demons who torment the damned."
Picture of Diablo stuck in a frozen zone in the Ninth circle of Dante's Inferno.
There is a painting on a church in Italy which shows the Blue diablo, but I cannot remember the author or paining so its been hard to find.
Also just to keep things moving:
"...the word hell comes from Hel....."
So basically maybe I am just too out of it, but the reason their is ice, is because blizzard maybe read some history and is depicting the cold, blue version of hell and diablo of the 14th century.
The last quote is just cool. "hel" the rune actually is the word to derive "Hell" the word.

he posted in response to SithDiablo looking for the 07 WWI promotional poster i think, as i did earlier. In which case i pointed out that Blizzcon and WWI arent the same thing.
Oh, hehe, didn't see the "sithdiablo" part at the bottom. My bad
Poll: How many years did you devout to Diablo II and LoD
More than I can count on one hand, almost more than two. If you added in Diablo I, I'd need three hands
Please do not double post in this forum if you need to add something you can always edit.

Hmm..went on wikipedia and searched the "alternative" rune..Nef. Just out of curiosity to see what I could find. I didn't find much but apparently there's a glacier called Nef Glacier in Chile. I don't know whether this is relevant to the teaser or not. Just a lil something I found.

Haha, thanks for the response. It is still one of the only games I load on all my PC's because I never get tired of it. Including Diablo I, yeah that would be many years.
Why is it that no one ever talks about the images (runes?) outside of the (()) circular lines?
Here's what I mean:
please refrain from ever posting here ever again. because you cant read. thats all people have been talking about for the past 12 hours

He's talking about the two smaller ones adjacent to what everyone else is talking about. I have read the whole thread and don't remember anyone mentioning them. So he has a point...

People that liked what Diablo 3 looked like are not going to sit here and bitch about how its good. People that want it to change are much more vocal. The poll is flawed because of that FACT.
Note that I circled four (4) images. You have been discussing two (2) runes.
I'll lay it out for you. I circled twice as many as you have been discussing.
That means 2+2 =4
I can circle 46 things, if those 44 mean nothing, what good is it to display them?
I dont have the image ( i only have the 1st spoiler) so I cannot magnify the images, so if somebody could post what he is talking about, that would be greatly appreciated, because I only see the two runes.
