Ooo - Jarcho is crafting already too.
I need to get some play time in.
I remember the first time I tried BRW, there was a swarm (like 15 or so) of those big Gargantuan Beasts right at the entrance - I couldn't get through for nothing.

I find the problem is the purple fallen. They block a lot and if you are surrounded by them you can get into serious trouble due to not leaching. Again this issue is more for lower level due to level difference of the character and the monsters. I will still be at a disadvantage but I should be able to come out of it. I am looking to get some exceptional items there to make the rest of Normal move faster.
[edit]
I think he is the first person in the history of all 3 craftsman tournaments to have crafted before Act 5 in normal. He had his first craft in Act 1. I am going to wait until I get some Exceptional Items before I start to craft.

I did the First level of Blood Ravens Workshop at Players 8. I did not go into Level 2 since it is too dense of a location and a lot of monsters that gets revived. It would be too much for my Barb to kill with a single attack since I do not have freeze attack or RIP mod.

I Did not get anything good out of that level. I do not know if I should continue on with Act 3 or do some more runs of BRW.
lol Im getting behind. I'll be starting sometime next week I guess.
Since I am yet to get past act II in Eastern Sun with a paladin, I guess I'll enter this tourney with a paladin. His name... Scared_Flip. I hope paladins work well with crafts, I have NEVER crafted before (in ES or LoD or the original).

I don't craft much either, the little I did was not good. I am having trouble keeping an eye on my health so I don't die. There is a reason I don't do HC, hehehe I get too wrapped up in killing to look at my health. It's hard not using gemwords, runewords, sets and uniques too hehehe. When my inventory is full (from drops) - I am willing to bet 25% of it are katanas. lol

I have another question. I went to the database site and checked up the crafting thngs. So are we only allowed to make the items listed under the "Old Craft" and "New Craft" sections? If so, then isn't that a little underpowered - even for nightmare level? Also, what does "1-4 random affixes" mean? Does it mean that you'll get an extra 1-4 different mods added onto that craft?

The most powerful item in the game is likely going to be a crafted rung/amulet. Those mods you see listed are the set mods for the recipe. The 1-4 affixes mean that up to an additional prefixes and suffixes can drop. Any affix that is available for a rare is available. The list of affixes is available at the database. The higher the recipe level (crafting takes into account 60% of both the character level and the item level to calculate the new item level for the recipe) the better chance to get all 4 affixes. Take note the more affixes that show up the higher the required level of the item.
Crafting items can be very strong. I would say that for the most part they are equal to rares. Rare Weapons and Torsos will for the most part outshine crafts due to the ethereal rare rerolling recipe. Crafts are expensive to roll. For the most part class crafts are the better recipe. Remember you can forge the crafts and d-stone/gem-meld the crafts.

I played a little bit yesterday and did 3 crafts. 2 rings and an amulet. One ring I can not use due to it being level 63?. The crafts are not that good. I will likely be farming a little bit over the next few days. I will likely be farming the Fake Note, Moonshine Distillery(Booze for the Drunken Barb) and the Poppy Farm as soon as I have the way points

I created the starter axe in a 2 hander to get a big boost in damage. I also put all stat points into strength. That weapon changed to a Maul later in Act 2. Shortly I will make a new weapon.

Ullion: I would recommend taking a look at the crafting recipes and also at the character builds and base your character on that. Many of the tourneys are based on understanding and studying on the rules and figuring on which characters would work best with the tourney and then choosing from one of them.
I choose the Barb since I wanted to see if a heavy oriented melee character can do well with only crafts.

Right, we're not allowed to respec our skills, are we? I mean, using that "X" option at the top of the skill tree screen?
Personally, I don't like making my builds based off others'. I mean, I'll take a good look at the different crafting recipies, and defintely look into and pre-plan out my skillstat distribution of my amazon ahead of time. And if despite all that, I notice she doesn't work out as well as hoped, I'll retire her and start anew. =)
edit: So, I looked most stuff up, and I think I'll give it a shot with the amazon. This will certainly be fun. I hope you DotA players get the name reference =D
We usually add our entries at the bottom. I can see you want that top spot.

I have got a request from an experienced and well known Eastern Sun player at the Keep that would like to join with the Beta Version of ES. He is helping the mod maker with the patch. The Beta Version will likely have a few changes compared to the latest version of the mod. He will be playing with the rules I have set up and he will be noting that the character is a Beta character. I see no issue with this since I see this tournament more as a fun tournament. Before I will let him enter I want to here from all of you on the input. I will also be updating some of the rules to clarify some of them.

I am in Act 5 now I have not crafted yet. I will need to do some more leveling and then I will start to do some crafts.
I had my fourth coupon jackpot so far in the tourney. No other jackpots.

Yes. Almost any affixes' mods can be added onto the craft, it's just a low chance that they will be useful.
