For the past 4 years, collecting, cataloging and analyzing Diablo related lore is something I have become most accustomed to.
Only during the recent year though my project began molding into what is supposed to be its final and ultimate version, a complete compendium of every piece of text ever written about the World of Diablo.
Anyone keeping track of my work already knows that the hard part is finally over, at least for me, at least for now, I got most of the content management protocol under control, and the site already contains every possible piece of information that, for those who know where to look, was already available so far, that, plus a few exclusives (The search engine is working!).
Although a lot of the information they contain is either duplicated (From one another) or non original, they do offer a unique, consistent and canon pieces of text which offer a distinct point of view on almost every aspect of the lore of the game, that makes them an integral part of my project.
And so, a full scale call to arms is required, because there's no way in hell I'll be able to complete it all by myself, this time around I'm hoping that with the sponsorship of the site's management, we will have a better turn out.
For those who weren't aware, I did make a previous attempt at this, unfortunately though, not many responded.
To make matters worst, about half of the processed material that was sent back to me was lost , along with the records of everything involving who received parts to be transcripted and what parts those were, but all in all I believe those were about 3 parts so that's not so bad.
This time how ever I plan on making this operation allot more organized, listed below are all of the parts needed to be transcripted, all were split about half a year ago and I hadn't done allot effort to make them equal in volume, they are split by subjects, and I'll try to list how long each of them are.
The good news are that there are allot of repeats within the editions and most of the texts involving the same subject like monsters description or character kits are almost identical, almost being that there are variations that I do not wish to be ignored, any one taking one those parts to transcript after a similar part in a previous edition had been completed is encouraged to copy and paste what ever he can, but it is of the utmost importance to read them word by word and correct every deviation from the previous text.
So how does this work you ask?
Simple, anyone wishing to help out is welcomed to respond here, or through a private message, or through the official Email address for what ever is concerned with the site, worldofsanctuary@gmail.com , and request a part to trascript, I'll do my best to take into account special requests like a particularly long or short part, or a certain subject, though like I said before, it will be a waist having two people transcripting the monster stats simultaneously.
Once a request has been maid, I'll send the part to that person and mark the status of the part on the list below at "Pending" or something like that.
The objective of the transcription is taking the image files of the D&D editions and rewriting them into something that I can work with, editable text files, Word documents and their ilk are also acceptable, and also very long Emails.
The main thing to remember here is that the transcripts must be identical to the original texts, if you see a segment where more information can be added, a better form of the sentence can be produced or maybe even a simple spelling mistake can be fixed, please don't, one of the main goals of the project is to stay as true as can be to each origin by its own, so as to present the exact information that can be derived from each source, nothing less and nothing more.
Important!, if you have been given a part to transcript and think that your not up to it, or at least not all of it, or is unable to continue for any reason, please notify me so that I would be able to give that part, or whats left of it providing you do send me back what you have accomplished so far, to someone else.
Once a part is completed and sent back to me, it will be marked as "Completed" on the list below and uploaded to the site.
If anyone is up to taking a second go at a different part, don't be shy to let me know.
Once a part had been completed send it to me and I will do my best to upload it to the site as soon as possible.
That's it then, all the information I can think of right now that's needed to be written in order for this operation to commence, now all we lack is volunteers.
Here is the list of parts to be transcrpited:
*Lost - To save the work of transcripting the same piece more than one time, this marks a piece I know I gave to someone, I have no way of telling if it was ever sent back to me so if the person who received that part for transcripting did finish the job and still has the output of it, I would very much appreciate it if it would be sent back to me, if there is no change in its status for several days then it will remove the Lost tag.
*Need reviewing - This piece was modified (Added words, missing punctuation marks, missing sentences and so on.) during the transcription and now it needs to be examined closely, parallel to the original text in order to fix any deviation from it, the person who will receive this part will also receive the transcripted text that needs to be fixed.
*Overlapping - This piece has some information which is identical to the information in a piece previous to it on the list, and so will not be available for transcription until the previous piece is finished.
*Pending - This piece is now being processed by someone and will soon (I hope) be available on the site.
*Completed - This piece is now available on the site.
The Awakening:
1 Overview and characters - Pending
2 Spells - Pending
3 Monsters - Pending 4 Tristram - Completed 5 Levels 1-9 - Completed
6 Levels 10-end - Pending Diablerie:
7 Overview and Characters (Overlapping 1)
8 Spells (Overlapping 2)
9 Monsters (Overlapping 3)
10 The keep - Pending Adventure Game: 11 Adventure game - Completed To Hell and Back:
12 Introduction (Short) - Pending
13 Act I (Long)
14 Act II (Long)
15 Act III (Long)
16 Act IV
17 Monsters (Overlapping 1)
On to another issue, my site is still not compatible with Internet Explorer, and I would like for it to change, so if anyone here has sufficient knowledge in HTML and CSS and thinks that he might be able to fix the lay out, let me know.
I believe the the images, the CSS file and one HTML file taken directly from a pages source, as to produce a clean HTML result without all of the PHP and the need to be able to run PHP files should be enough for some one who knows what hes doing in order to figure out what is the problem.

- Everything you ever wanted to know about the lore of Diablo and never knew where to look (In construction).
I should have some time on weekends to help a little.
You will just need to remind me how to submit information again.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I can do with anything that is in .txt .doc .odt .ott formats and so on.
and the Email is worldofsanctuary@gmail.com , long email containing all of the information also count.
I'll send you the monster part if your up to it, I do believe you were the one who got the last time so it shouldn't take that long, just needs a bit of extensive correcting.

Almost no one has a copy of the D&D editions today, and I don't expect anyone to, I have prepared and edited the parts that need to be transcripted, and the plan is to send each transcripter a part of his own.

I did not “not follow up” since last time, I've made a huge amount of progress since then, just not in the same direction.
The thing about not saying thank you is probably true though, I'm sorry, just because I don't remember to say it specifically doesn't mean that I am not very thankful.
I have a high tendency of exhibiting anti social behavior, a simple hello and other regular small talk varieties are usually beyond me, please don't hold that against me, especially if it means holding it against the project as well, which I'm not doing sole benefit of myself you know.

I am actually quite willing to help with this project. Come the first weekend of May, I'll have much more time. If you still would like help then, PM me by then and we'll arrange for you to send me all the stuff you need typed out.
I think I might have some stuff I haven't got around to yet. It's from a time we tried this earlier. Been meaning to get around to it for some time now.

You're very uncommitted. How long ago was it you were given the content?
I can give this a crack. All that it requires is extensive comparison, right? I don't have to know any special codes or anything? My e-mail is MagistrateEast@gmail.com if you need it for some reason.
