I voted for the monk for many reasons. One being he has ondemand heals and still does tons of damage. Another big one is that they have taken away a lot of the disadvantages for being melee a la constant gap closer and ways to stick on the target. Im not 100% sure monks will be the best but I can say that everyone will want one on their teams.
The monk will definitely be sitting at the top for a while, especially in player vs. player. It will require a skilled kiter to avoid their huge bursts of damage and their survivability is absurd. Teams of monks will become nails on a chalkboard for players due to their several survival and heal abilities.

Wizards seems the best, even if the teleport has 16 sec of cd is the best way to scape and he has also her frost spells to fight against monk and baba.
I read the post and any1 vote for DH but i think with 3 summoned dogs and fighting from far with poison could be a good choice too.
People often see class as most OP when its a real pain to deal with an opponent playing that class. Thats obvious.
So far I can see a monk being one of those classes. For casters - hes to mobile, can be near ya very fast and unleash quite a nice of dmg. Can also heal whole team (this causes rage among ppl which were about to kill Your teammate), against melee monk can have a lot of avoidance, and ways to skip out of battle and in to unload dmg then escape again...
Ofcourse You cant have it all in one time, but versatility of class is huge in my eyes. And in eyes of opponents Monk can be a "imba god of doom". Thats ofcourse just my opinion, happy to see others opinions also. Observing WD cc abilities also...
I think most people will play barbarian and wizard ,that does not mean those classes will be the best, if the majority of average users are playing a certain class ,that does not mean that that class will be OP ,or on top. I'll probably roll a wizard first, get him on lvl 60 ,try arena ,then I'll see for myself which class is the best in arena ,based on opponents I meet and so. We'll see. All we can do now is speculate.
I voted WD, with his passive abilities to increase his life, and ability to DoT people up and CC, and then spirit walk. He will put his DoT spells on, slow you, pets will attack you, you get close, he spirit walks, you are still taking damage, CC'd again he takes the health globe, you catch up to him, he uses a nuke, pets explode, you die!!
Of course all hypothetical, and there will be tons of variations of builds, but I think the WD will be awesome in PvP.
Thats how I see things working out in my head =) Can't wait for this game. Although I'm thinking wizard will dominate with his dps and slow time making him nimble and hard to hit.
Monk will be the best class in this game or i just believe so .
For sure will be playing monk .. or atleast my first hero will be a MIGHTY MONK :D.

While the DH can move around fairly easy he lacks good healing abilities so I don't think that's gonna be the best pvp class.
I myself think that either the barbarian or the monk is going to rule.
The monk can easily reach perma 80% dodge rating with some massive heals.
The barbarian has %life gains with hits and loads of stuns.
The Wizard only has teleport to really get away. The Barbarian can leap attack with a stun. Pull back the wizzard with a spear (which heals) Charge and heal or stun. Pull in people and stun them with ground stomp. The barbarian will be really hard to deal with.
I honestly believe it'll be Wizard first. Just my wild guess, until they swing the nerf bat and then it's shifted to another class. Then of course the lovely theory crafters get ahold of parces and whatnot and read waaay too much into the game mechanics.
Well i guess it depends from team i would say. 2 Monks with different mantras and Wizard to do area dmg and cast spells from behind. Monks got a lot - A LOT - healing skills which grant you buff like increased dmg after being healed, Monks got tons of dodge opportunites and their dmg when using 2x1 weapons can be deadly i think. Only drawback is low level of health but high dps is more important i would say. Your equipment will play main role in those combats.
Even though I'll be playing a wizard myself, I think Witch Doctor has the biggest PvP potential.
Simply looking at his abilities: Fear, Confusion, Spirit Walk, Hex, one can guess that those are about to be imba for PvP.
Second place I would give to Barb since he has 4 "I can reach you" abilities, which can counter most of escape abilities of other classes.
Rest of the classes (including my Wizard) are about to fall behind, more or less.
Nevertheless, having 4v4 bracket will allow any of the class to find a spot.
Looking to skill mobility of each class u can c, that i class is countering another, so 1 vs 1 u can predict who is going to win, but in team fights is everything about the right class, right build setup. And ofc dont forget about straight hands of skilled players
