Who agrees that these new areas REALLY brought up that nostalgic diablo feel... The areas are so random... And I can't wait to see what's up in the old mill... And what quests await there...
The charging beast certainly made me recall the Horned Demons in D1.
I always said the D3 Beta lacked two things - Goatmen and Fallen. Good thing we got to kill at least one of those
There are lots of Fallen in the Den of the Fallen.
Though I plan to play a Witch Doctor first, I think the top class will end up being the Barbarian. They already seem overly strong, which can only improve over time with higher levels and gear.
Plus, Barbarians will be running around with these.
It will be used for PvE in mostly solo play. I chose this build because I wanted to run with skills that allowed me to destroy mobs of mindless zombies with my own mobs of mindless zombies. I keep Haunt in there because it is a great way to set up some Damage over Time and regen mana before I send forth my zombie legion.
For passives, I will hot swap Circle of Life in for Spiritual Attunement when I need the 4th dog.
I think this build will get enough life and mana regen to get me through to Inferno. It also keeps pets up to hold up mobs of enemies while I keep range and blow things up. I chose this style because I loved the Summoner Necromancer in Diablo 2 and wanted to pay him as much tribute as I was able.
I'm not so sure about that Seytan, I think that a lot of people will still go online and look for a "perfect" build. Y'know, to farm and do the mad deeps. But I think it'll be less so than D2's, since there is no punishment for going a wrong build, so it allows for people to experiment more freely
You make a good point about more freedom, however I think a lot of what will give people that "perfect" build for MFing or sick DPS is going to have more to do with gear than skills. And gear is something that is a lot more difficult to copy that skills and runes. The freedom you mention will just give people better ability to find out what they like, then hunt for the gear that will augment what they have chosen.
I think we will see lots of variation in full release. I have a Witch Doctor build that uses runes from all over the spectrum. I also think that a lot of experimentation will go on, and this will change minds for many people where skills and runes are concerned.
I do not foresee people going out of their way to get online and copy other builds though. People will naturally gravitate towards what they enjoy the most. As long as they are killing monsters and surviving, folks will use what they want.

They're just all dead already...

I dislike the idea that I can lose tons of hard work because of a small game glitch or Internet issue.

I killed the Skeleton King yesterday with a new Barbarian I rolled, and got a rare Petrified Trunk with +5 Intelligence.
Edit: They can have Barbarian only stats though, like +Max Fury or +Fury Generation.
