Just been doing a few Rifts with some mates and we noticed that if you are too far away from another player you dont get any loot at all anymore, usually we can be on the other side of the map and still get loot but havnt been getting any today? I've actually had friends come down at the end of a rift and just pick up items from the rift/boss.
Has anyone else noticed this change? It could be worth noting that 2 of my friends are playing from the same house and so are sharing the 1 internet connection.
Ive never been able to get loot on mobs i either wasnt in close range of or didnt participate in killing. Chests and breakables are different though. Missed out on a few rift bosses because of this.
Legendary items will drop throughout the act, regardless of where you are and can be seen on the zone map.
So legendaries will still drop from mobs, even if you are in town? This might be where I was confused, because I've seen legendaries laying around before when I havnt even been in the zone.
My understanding is that legendaries are global. Meaning you can go back and look for loot in maps you weren't on. If you join a game in session and they're on stage 4 of a rift, I'm not sure if you can just walk through the first 3 levels searching for legendaries or not, but I know they're global and you don't need to be in range.
However ... I believe you only see the legendary star icon on your *mini* map, not when you tab and go full screen map..
The other morning I did 6 or 7 rifts and some schmoe kept going off all lone silver.. I got 0 legendaries. 1 from Kadala that whole time.
Split farming or not .. I rather have the +magic and experience from being in closer proximity. I rather split farm bounties. And even then that's just for frags and caches, and until caches are buffed I don't really much care about those.
Unless legendaries show on the big map, I'm not really a fan of split farming rifts. Blood shards are nothing but a chance at a legendary. For a specific slot, yes, but just a chance at a legendary none the less. *Every* chest, mob kill, body search, etc has a chance for a legendary - albeit a smaller chance, in some cases, but a chance all the same. Why would I want to speed farm shards and skip all the other possible drops?
I have experienced not getting any loot from a rift boss and it was killed right infront of my char ... I was in windows and I got no loot. It is really uncool that blizzard does that. Perhaps they should only follow that model in public games.
