Well I have been looking at D3 for the first time in months after everybody got all excited about the patch. I am not impressed.
First : legendaries : It's raining them now, great. They are still bloody useless though. I just hope that that will improve when we get the new legendaries. But the ones dropping right now are as useless as they were before loot 2.0.
Rares : well great, now rares almost always have the main stat i need and also a 200+ vitality roll added to it. The vast majority of it is still just for disenchanting though. Yes, the rares are more tailored towards your class. But they still suck. If you have 200+ of main stat and vit, you can be pretty sure that it will neither have all resist nor any damage stats.
So all in all I have not found one single item so far that was a slight upgrade over the items that I was able to buy in the Ah ( like back in november ) for a few millions. I just disenchant more items with the proper main stat now.
Things will not get much better after RoS hits either. There will be a little run while leveling, and then you will find some quick updates at 70, but i give it a week or two at max before we are in the same position again, that we have tons of drops and none are upgrades. At least back with the AH you could turn all this mediocre gear into some gold and buy an upgrade every now and then. Now we are just at the absolute mercy of the RNG gods.
What's your point? Don't play if you don't think it's fun. It's not like you're saying anything constructive.
Oh so it's like in china now, you cant say anything critic?
My point is that I fear that you guys were once again blinded by some shallow promises. Gameplay changes that only work if you dont look past 20+ hours played. Long time motivation to play as non existant as before RoS. AH sacrificed as scrap goat to distract from the real problems. And most of the sheeple here actually buying it.
....if you already had the best of the best before this patch, odds are upgrades for you will be few and far between.
If you did NOT already have best of the best you will be upgrading quite frequently. Roll a new toon and level it to 60...then see how quickly it gains in power compared to previously. But don't go onto you character that you spent bllions of gold on the AH buying the absolute best gear and expect to find upgrades left and right.

I was not even able to play MP10 before. Billions on best gear? You gotta be kidding me. I never even had millions... It's that stupid kind of stereotype that made gameplay discussions almost impossible on this forum since D3 came out. Guys posting shit like this is why we can not have nice things.

You started a thread just to say that you don't like the game - you're entitled to your opinion, but it's quite useless for anybody else, as you don't share any thoughts on how the system could actually be improved.
I wrote about it, months ago, before blizzard came out with the AH removal and all those stupid decisions and I lost almost all hope for the game.
Things will not get much better after RoS hits either. There will be a little run while leveling, and then you will find some quick updates at 70, but i give it a week or two at max before we are in the same position again, that we have tons of drops and none are upgrades.
Obvious troll is obvious.
Of course you won't find updates regularly if you already own items from the top 1% of those available, that's how maths works.

Obvious reading impairment is obvious.
I allready said that i was and still am nowhere near the 1%.
Besides, that is not the point at all. The question is how fast you reach that 1% and what happens when you get there. Many people before the loot 2.0 patch were bored because the AH lets them reach the 1% way too fast. Now we have "smart loot" helping you to reach the 1% way too fast. How is that better? You still get there too fast and then get bored.
I always said that the way to go for the game is making it harder, not easier. Going back into the direction that the game had before 1.3. Making your way to the 1% waaaaay longer, not shorter.
If you get Str/Vit on one piece of gear that leaves 2 more primary affixes and 2 more secondary affixes.
Not every rare or legendary has Mainstat/vit slammed on them and you can sacrifice Vit for other Primary stat if you think you don't need the vit.
Play the game some more and you will probably find some of the new legendaries with amazing affiex. I found yesterday helm for my monk that increases spirit regen by 12 when you cast Inner Sanctuary (Lasts 6 seconds) with some spirit regen this helm will bring back Nirvana like build with insane burst for the duration of the inner sanctuary , I also found another helm for my WD with 97% Increased Pet damage , if I get Tasker and Theo (50% Increased pet attack speed) and I can complete Zuni's Set then I can go full summoner with Fetishes that stay up almost 100% of the time and Zombie Dogs and Crazy burst on my Gargantuan(dealing more than 1000% weapon damage per swing and swings 1.5 times faster than usual) , I also have skills and items that reduce cooldown which means my Gargantuan that lasts 15 seconds and has 60 seconds cooldown , has almost 5-10 seconds cooldown now.
Such builds are possible ONLY because of loot 2.0. Don't jump into conclusions after playing for few hours or even 1 day , also your gear can all be replaced easily , you might think you are losing dps because of paperdps , but you will make up for it or even have higher dps because of the new hidden stats and legendary affixes.
First : legendaries : It's raining them now, great. They are still bloody useless though. I just hope that that will improve when we get the new legendaries. But the ones dropping right now are as useless as they were before loot 2.0.
Useless?
Blind Faith I found for my Throw Barbarian (a build way more viable than it ever was in vanilla D3) adds 22+% Blind chance. That kind of crowd control really helps in keeping distance.
Just last night, found a Countess Julia's Cameo for my Monk that makes Arcane lasers heal me. Sorry...wouldn't have found anything like that before the patch.
Yesterday morning, I found a Spider Queen's Grasp Ceremonial Knife that adds an 80% slow wherever Corpse Spiders impact. Great for a lower armor pet class like a Witch Doctor.
On the PTR, I found an Emimei's Duffel Quiver that makes Bolas explode instantly. Really stepped up my AOE damage. Another Quiver I found, Bombadier's Rucksack, allowed me to have 5 Sentries out at once with Custom Engineering. Also really stepped up my damage.
Aside from MAYBE the Blind Faith, which I'm honestly not sure existed before the patch (it may have)...those four at least are brand new, and have effects no AH purchases could touch. The AH is a scapegoat? Keep dreaming.
Pardon my correcting you, but I've found a bunch of items since the patch came out that have mainstat, vitality and all res on them. Feel free to look up my profile on Bnet. My Countess Julia's Cameo has mainstat, all res AND black damage.
Sorry if you feel the RNG gods aren't on your side, but to say nothing's changed? Really not sure what game you're playing.
Besides, that is not the point at all. The question is how fast you reach that 1% and what happens when you get there. Your subjective view of "too fast" is exactly that.
The removal of the AH has significantly slowed down that time for those that used the AH, and significantly reduced the level of frustration for those that didn't.
Shoulders and bracers can roll: cool down reduction, +elemental, +skill, ect. You should play around with those affixes and see how your build changes.
When RoS drops, item power will scale to your level (70). They also said more legendary es come in another patch.
The removal of the AH has significantly slowed down that time for those that used the AH, and significantly reduced the level of frustration for those that didn't.
How can the AH removal mean anything to those that did not use it before? You maybe mean the loot improvement? Those are two separate things, you know? You dont even make sense.
I always said that I am all for loot improvements. I just dont see why they had to remove the AH for it. And I dont really see the improvements so far. That is my main worry.
cardinal : not to make this personal, but after the way you discussed these topics last time we were in the same thread, I am not gonna reply directly to anything you post.

Can you post a picture of the "Countess Julia's Cameo", sounds very cool.
OP I'm just not sure you're going to find that a majority of people agree with you. I didn't dump a lot of time into D3 before because I felt like I HAD to spend money on the AH to get good gear. I didn't feel like farming for hundreds of hours to get a few upgrades.
Now the game is a lot more like D2 (which I personally love). You will upgrade your gear (starting from scratch) much more frequently, and with different combinations of rares, legs, etc. I've put more time into D3 in the last three nights than I had in the previous year and a half.
So for me, I couldn't disagree with you more.
As for the AH, I'm glad it's gone. Anyone who says the AH is a social or mutliplayer tool is like saying Craig's list and Facebook are similar.
I tried to read the post but all i could see was QQ QQ QQ QQ . You know something, and that goes to all these people who always have something negative to say about anything, name me one game or one company that supports AAA titles almost 2 years after with changes and updates of this magnitude to the game FREE OF CHARGE. Yes you paid 60 dollars or euros for this game and you wanted something better and i agree with you, yes the game should have released like this 2 years earlier so the massive changes that would have happened now they would be more essential, yes yes and yes.
BUT the fact that the game is changing to a better game is undisputable, this is not an mmo and still you get regular changes, huge updates without getting charged DLC's. I have been a huge supporter of Blizzard back in the days when games came from gamers for the sake of gaming and not like now when products come from employees for the sake of profit. Gaming industry got huge, franchises like Diablo or Starcraft are golden cows that are getting milked, welcome to 2014.
If you feel cheated don't play the game, don't buy ROS until it's 20 euros or even better don't buy it at all and try when wanting to critisize so harshly a FREE upgrade of a game after 2 years, write a post with proprer structure.
I rarely bother to answer to anyone as negative as you, but brother it's been 2 days the patch is out and all spoiled brats are on the loose.
P.S Sorry for any typos i am too lazy to check and correst plus i am Greek so deal with it
poor OP, guess u dont have to play the game, unless some1 is holding a gun to ur head
WHY do some ppl think that they NEEEEEED to spread their opinion, ppl need to understand, WE DONT CARE if u dont like the game, ill keep playing cause i like the game
You talk about no long-term motivation past 20 hours, but looking at your gear you can't have played much yet. After playing 20 hours you'll see most of your gear replaced, maybe except for Unity and Skorn. It's also not raining legendaries; about 1 per hour, and while not every legendary is game-breaking, about every 2 hours I come across a legendary that lets me switch to a completely new build. If that isn't fun and long-term motivating, I don't know what is.
Yeah, you're entitled to your own opinion, but there are only 2 other people on these forums who share your opinion (brx, who is clearly nothing but a troll, and Shad3slayer, who's suffering from the 550% MF to 0% MF problem which needs some time to adjust). The vast majority of D3 players is absolutely amazed by the patch, all my friends are coming back and playing it right now (and enjoying it a lot). Obviously the drastic changes (BoA, AH shutdown, some builds removed) will scare away some players, but the game is just evolving. If you don't like it, I'm sorry, but the points you raised in your post are just difficult to accept realizing (by looking at your gear) that you clearly haven't even played 10-20 hours into the patch. But it's okay, I've uninstalled games after 15 minutes, no one forces you to play it. Move on. You won't convince us to stop playing though :-)
"First : legendaries : It's raining them now, great. They are still bloody useless though. I just hope that that will improve when we get the new legendaries. But the ones dropping right now are as useless as they were before loot 2.0."

This is the defining statement of your post. It tells me everything I need to know. You are an AH baby. You were raised on it. You would rather spend cash then time and effort to get your gear. Well, I would recommend you find another game. D3 is going back to what made it great. Self find. You are going to have to work for your gear now. Just like in D2. If this doesn't sit well with you, again I SINCERELY suggest you find your gaming fixes elsewhere. You wont be happy in D3 anymore.

I wish I could post my ammy. The special affix is if you get hit by arcane beams, the beams heal you for 24% of the arcane damage. So if there is a disco party, just stand in the beams and you will always get healed.
