My question is about what happens to weapon effects when you transmog? If I transmog a weapon that has fire effects do they stay on the new weapon? If I transmog a legendary into another legendary what happens there? If I transmog a legendary into a basic weapon then what?
Currently, from what I remember, Transmogrifying a fiery weapon will keep the fiery effect on the new weapon. Legendaries are exclusions. At least I'm pretty sure they are, since they've never had custom elemental effects, they've only ever had their own effects. So Transmogrifying one Legendary to another removes the old effect and applies the effect of the new Legendary (if there is one).
Holy, bleed, fire etc. all those comes with the item even after you have transmogrified it (or as I say: made it swag). So the short answer is yes!
You can transmog your weapons to identical legendaries for example, but if your real weapon have fire effect on it before you change the "skin" it will aply on that item even after. So in a sense.. you can have two of the same, but with some extra different design-animations on it. One fire, one electric etc.

So you;re saying if I have a fire elemental rare sword and transmorg it into an Azurewrath, ti would be an azurewrath with fire effect? I didnt think this was the case. As Overneath said, legendary weapons have their own effects and dont carry the real weapons' effects.
If Azuewarth didnt have any effect, I think it would have fire on it. I have transmog into other legs and they did keep effects if they didnt have ny glow, drips or similar effect like that actually.

Azurewrath is more fit to an ice-themed sword
