I know I'm gonna be in the minority for saying this, but I still pick them ALL up! I only recently stopped picking up blues, in fact. I've found that over an average "Alkaizer" run of Act 3 I can cash in anywhere between 30k-80k worth of badly-rolled rares, and that's still a good chunk of change for someone like me (most gold ever on hand was ~6m).
EDIT: I will say, though, that I have memorized the unidentified names of most i63 rares, so I usually ID those right away.

i would choose my own religion and worship my own spirit, but if he ever preached to me i wouldn't want to hear it. i'd drop him, a forgotten god, languishing in shame; and then if i hit stormy seas, i'd have myself to blame.
they need to remove the time it takes to id rare, rares are mostly useless, full stash of rare = full stash of disappointment anyways
consider the opportunity cost of id the rare, then walk up to the vendor and make he effort to sell it, the time would be better used for killing a few more trash mob and pick up the gold real quick with pickup radius, and have a shot at getting legendary for each mob u kill.
however, sometimes rares can still be good if u get a perfect godly roll, thats why i still pick up 1 handers and most armors
ilvl 63 helms, chest, pants, shoulder, bracers, boots, belt
All gloves
All jewelry
Blacksmith plans I don't have
Jeweler designs I don't have
Legendaries and sets
ilvl 61+ 1-hand class-unspecified weapons
Ilvl 63 1-hand class-specified weapons (don't ask why I do this)
Hellion crossbows and Revenant bows
Everything else not in that list remains on the ground.

'bout sums it up for me. I have a list on my desk of all 63's I used for a while but now have them memorized. If it's not on the list, it satys. In arcon I have no time for the little stuff and would rather keep my timer going by killing as much as I can as fast as I can.

I pick up all rares, usually leave all blues unless I'm starving for cash. I can usually bring in a decent chunk of change on the nights that I vendor everything
It's not all rational. Essentially I only pick up those rares that have a chance to roll an upgrade for me, even though that chance is sooooo small. And then I pick some for no particular reason, like I keep picking up Archon armors.
Right. I have about 0.0000000000000000001% chance (or something like that) of having something that can upgrade my wizard. But right now I'm picking things up and IDing them hoping to upgrade my monk alt, upgrade lesser geared friends, or looking for the next item to sell in the AH or donate to pubbies.
Once I accidentally picked up a Doom Armor only to have it roll 30 strength, about 200 thorns, and a socket.
I know, RNG. But never again. I'll stick to Archon Armors.
^ That doom armor can have same stats as Archon now no?So why wouldnt you pick it:P.LIke for example I picked up some Doom threads and it turned out they were godly ones : 278 Dex - 90 vit - 50+ poison + 77 ALL + 158 Armor + 12 movement speed. sold them for 80 mil np.Tho after that pair I havent had a rare that was sold for more than 200k.Karma man!
the BASE stats on the item are still based on the item level, only the affix ranges are at monster level
I've done several run analysis scenarios with different MPs and acts with my 300%GF DH and ID'ing and vendoring rares is by far the most efficient way to make money (money made/time spent). Of course from a statistical perspective, the number will be inflated greatly because it takes very little time to ID and sell rares, but still, the numbers may be insignificant from a single sell off perspective, but they add up a lot in the long run.
according to the above comments, i think my new list is gonna be like this:
(assume mp1+)
-pick up all armors
-leave all weapons below 61, for 1H
-never pick up 2H or quiver
-only pick up hellion xbow or revenant bow
I only pick up jewelry, 1 handed weapons and maybe gloves / boots / chests. Every other slot is easily filled with super cheap legendaries like vile ward / fire walkers / set belts ect.
I'm considering the idea of not picking up rares anymore. I sell 5+ screens worth of rares a night for 200-300k. Why? It wont make me rich. And all I've found this week are two items that sold for 275k each.
Think I'm going to switch to just yellow jewelry. Seems to be the only hot items in the ah lately. Will make my life simpler and I'll probably get much more exp towards my paragon lvl. (33 baby! 1/3 the way there...)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but once you hit 60-70, that's the one-third mark of the total EXP you need to hit paragon 100
I only pick up ilvl 61's and up. So 58-60 (including 60) stays on the ground. Some friend tried to convince me to start picking up ilvl 60's so i might give it a shot. If its jewelery then i pick it up no matter what the ilvl is. All of the plans that drop and that are worth like 20k onthe AH i just pick up and train my blacksmith, maybe one day ill have all of the recipes xD

Indeed, and it shows in the leveling especially after you hit 70. From there on out it is a grind. I used to fill the XP meter about half way in a night and now I might hit one section of it. Wonder what 90 and up will feel like! lol

2H melee weapon, staff - there's very few chance to roll better than a bad rolled skorn
2H crossbow - not likely rolling better than a mediocre manticore
quiver - nearly no chance to roll better than a bad rolled DML
mighty belt - because its hard to outroll a badly rolled ik belt?
anything that i miss?

I go out of my way to pick up that pile of 1 gold too
