This might seem like a good way to farm since you have a guaranteed income and something to show for your time invested but over the long run farming elites is going to net you more gold because eventually you will hit the lottery on an item. (Atleast in my opinion)

not all people can farm elites. especially at a good pace. so i suppose this is a great step to getting enough gold to upgrade so you can farm the elites? :P

Yea, I did Act IV Nightmare runs with GF gear for a while, :) I should have been doing Act II Hell though (eventually realised and swapped), would have made more, but when I started, the vases were great source of extra gold, so I only compared Hell Act IV and Nightmare Act IV and Nightmare was faster, since I could use more GF gear and kill things faster, ;)

Its amusing how people make up stories of getting banned for farming the same spot over and over again, never happened to me, never will.
    EDIT:
Gave this 20 tries, avg gold per run is only 4-5k at 257% gold find.

Funny i guess im playing on a new account just for laughs then.

I must admit going from 25% movement speed [7%unity+7%hammer jammer+12%sage seekers] to only 7% [unity] felt slower on screen but when I looked at the numbers I wasn't really going 19% faster, so many stops for firing a crossbow and looted chests in NM Act III that gold find was coming out on top. I used to value movement speed equal to gold find but not anymore.

Currently have a 323% GF 7% Movement 26yd radius HC DH with 16.8?K DPS but he hasn't passed A1Q2 in hell yet so I'll have to test this area when the game comes back up. I'm hesitant to use my HC in hell so I think I'll try with my SC DH first with 330% GF and 14yd radius, shes only got 12K dps... I'll load up wolframalpha and figure out the base of the run then apply my current gold find%.

IMO I have a hard time believing this area is better than inferno royal crypt ashes, got 780K GPH there before the nerf and if it is better... I'll just have to thank you.

with my fast and loose math.. 400K GPH without drops factored in, rare packs have 140K hp vs 59K in NM which sucks up my time, at least for my setup. If I could clear the place in 20 seconds instead of 52 seconds I would be at ~1,049,580GPH. ... testing with fan of knives and see if I can kill the elite pack quicker... well that was a bust, averaged 56 seconds for those runs even with a 2K dps increase on my weapon.. 891minimum dmg vs 697minimum damage. I did find this crap on the 13 runs I did off a white mob.

Similar to Sarkoth or A3 Nightmare.

You have to take into account the strength of the monsters though. Sarkoth is most likely better still because you need almost no offensive stats to kill him, making it very easy to stack high GF. As a WD you just use Fetish Ambush and/or Pile On and he'll die almost instantly even with bad stats.

I seriously doubt you can make 1 million an hour doing this though. Averaging 500k / hour is really difficult to do in any area of the game, unlikely that you would double it.

Just because you make 1 million during 1 hour doesn't mean you'll average that much believe it or not. The disparities are greater than most people would assume.

Also, gold farming is unbelievably boring. You have to be pretty crazy to do this for more than a few hours, for a few days. An hour run will honestly feel like 6 hours, it's not fun at all.

Again, even with like 300% GF, it's very difficult to AVERAGE over 500k / hour in any area of the game. Do not expect to AVERAGE 1 million gold / hour farming Festering Woods like this.

Who watches themselves gold farm? I'm watching seasons of shows I normally wouldn't have the time to and briefly looking at the D3 window making sure no orange text is on screen.

updated previous post in bold with my fast and loose results

Love the 1 word responses to bump your thread.

No one minds people posting streams / YouTube videos when they're helpful (truthful?) but why lie in the thread title?

Show us proof you make 1 million / hour because it's pretty obvious that even with huge GF, making 1 million an hour won't happen in terms of raw gold average. Anyone who farms it themselves will see that the most they can average is around 500k.

So basically you put forth false information to get people to click on your YouTube video. Not sure how this kind of stuff is allowed to be honest.

I had actually only farmed this for 30mins after a viewer of mine told me about this run. he claimed 1mil/hour. i tested it and got around 400k in that half hour and just figured i was a little off (didn't have the proper gear he had)

what's the % difference between hell and inferno?
  • #34
ok i tested this on inferno
with WD (just spirit walk, 12 r/w on boots)
it's very precisely 12k per minute, running both caves, continuous remaking games, so i got about 1m gold from 1.5 hours

The upside is, I got 3 loots that sold for total of 118 dollars, and I put them on at low prices so they were instant sales on RMAH.

Some other gold ah sales not counted

GO GO, all my gold farming bros.

    3dit:
254 gold find without NV, approximately 30 yard pickup range
